Tao Lesi’s “Fallen CEO”

The rain was pouring down, the winding mountain road shrouded in a hazy mist. It was afternoon, but the sky was as dark as if night was about to fall.

In the curtain of rain, a silver RV was barely visible, moving slowly along the mountain path, its speed indicating the poor road conditions.

A flash of lightning cut across the sky, followed immediately by a thunderous roar that echoed like a demon’s low growl, sending chills down one’s spine.

The heavy rain devoured the road, visibility almost zero. Wei Tianlong gripped the steering wheel tightly, concentrating intently on driving.

He regretted his decision. He should have just done what he was supposed to do during the trip – attend his good friend’s wedding. Why did he suddenly get the crazy idea to come to the mountains after the wedding, wanting to enjoy nature?

This momentary indulgence seemed to be disapproved by the heavens, which had unleashed this impressive rainstorm to obstruct him.

He wanted to enjoy fresh air, lush greenery, and the sounds of insects and birds – not this torrential rain and thunderstorm.

“Tsk, at this rate, even if I make it up the mountain, it’ll be useless,” Wei Tianlong muttered, his relaxed mood replaced by irritation.

He had thought it was just an afternoon thunderstorm, but the rain was getting stronger and showed no signs of stopping.

Time to turn back!

He decisively began looking for a section of road to turn around, but the heavens seemed to be deliberately opposing him. After driving for a while, the road remained narrow, and with poor visibility, he couldn’t see if any vehicles were approaching, so he dared not turn back rashly.

How terrible – he couldn’t get down the mountain and was forced to continue driving up!

Finally reaching a slightly wider section of road, he no longer hesitated and was about to turn the steering wheel when he suddenly felt a tremor. From the corner of his eye, he seemed to see something falling, and instinctively looked towards the mountain wall—

To his surprise, large stones were falling just behind him, trees sliding down along with the massive landslide of mud and rocks.

“Damn it!” he exclaimed, suddenly feeling a sense of crisis, quickly straightening the steering wheel and cautiously accelerating forward.

The heavy rain had caused a mudslide. A few seconds later, he might have been stranded or forced to turn back to the collapsed section.

Was he lucky or unlucky? Lucky to escape the landslide, but unlucky to be trapped in the mountains!

Not daring to stop anywhere for long, he instinctively wanted to get further from the collapsed area and find a safe place to rest.

Along the way, there were many guesthouses, cabins, and mountain resorts. When he felt he was far enough from the collapse, a certain sign caught his attention, and he turned onto a one-way path, quickly assessing the main building as soon as it came into view.

Driving in the heavy mountain rain was fraught with hidden dangers. It was better to find a safe place to take shelter quickly. This “Leisure Cloud Mountain Resort” had a wide area, the buildings looked stable, and the surroundings didn’t seem prone to collapse…

OK, this will do.

Is she dreaming? Has the male protagonist walked out of the novel? She couldn’t help but shake her head and stand up to look at him carefully.

It’s not a dream, because he was completely soaked, and it was indeed raining heavily in reality.

However, even though he was drenched like a drowned rat and looked somewhat disheveled, it did not diminish his resemblance to the novel’s male protagonist, which showed just how outstanding he was.

“Um… are you open?” Wei Tianlong asked uncertainly.

In this weather, the shop might be closed and not accepting guests, but please help him – he had run from the parking lot and was completely wet. Don’t make him run back out in the rain!

Luo Yian suddenly came to her senses, realizing she had been staring at the man, her cheeks turning a subtle shade of pink.

“Yes, yes, yes.” She broke into a smile, adorable dimples appearing at the corners of her mouth as she hurried to greet him. “You want a room, right?”

Those deeply carved dimples were like sparkling stars, and this time it was Wei Tianlong who was momentarily stunned by her beauty.

This girl was so cute – with honey-colored skin, sweet features, a proportionate figure, dressed simply in a T-shirt and denim shorts, radiating vitality. Especially when she smiled, it was so sweet that one would want to pinch her cheeks.

He quickly pulled himself together, though his heartbeat remained irregular.

“Please come to the counter to register your information,” Luo Yian led him to the counter and took out a guest registration form for him to fill out.

As he bent down to write, water dripped from his hair. Luo Yian stole glances, suddenly feeling an impulse to reach out and wipe his wet hair, but quickly looked away to avoid doing something too forward.

Handing over the completed form, Wei Tianlong smiled casually. “Could you give me the best room in the mountain villa?”

“No problem, you can have whichever room you want, anyway, they’re all empty,” she spoke candidly, then immediately felt it might not be appropriate, laughing awkwardly and quickly explaining. “You know, with such heavy rain, usually people don’t come up the mountain.”

“Yes, I’m just silly, driven by an impulse, coming without checking the weather conditions,” he couldn’t help but shake his head and sigh, feeling this was indeed a misstep.

She smiled, originally curious but immediately suppressing the intrusive thought.

“I’ll give you the corner room on the third floor – it’s actually my favorite! Because I think it has the best view, with windows on two sides. At night you can see stars and the moon, in the morning you can see the sunrise… ah, but it’s been raining these days, so a good view doesn’t matter!” At the end, she even pouted disappointedly for him.

She chirped on like a sparrow, her expressions rich and vivid. Wei Tianlong listened and watched, and somehow, his previously low spirits lifted significantly. He felt this unexpected trip might not be entirely unpleasant.

“Sounds good, the corner room on the third floor,” he readily accepted her recommendation.

“So how long are you planning to stay?” she asked while browsing his information.

Wei Tianlong… not only was he handsome and elegant, but she even thought his name sounded nice!

Although it is already June and the mountain climate is still fluctuating between warm and cold, especially with the heavy rain making it feel even colder; and since he couldn’t open the windows due to the rain and had to use air conditioning while being shirtless, it would be strange if he didn’t catch a cold.

Drowsily, he didn’t know how long he had slept until he vaguely heard knocking and the sound of an electric bell, gradually waking up.

“Mr. Wei, Mr. Wei…”

He recognized it was the cute girl from the front desk earlier. She said her name was Yi’an, the daughter of the mountain lodge owner, which explained her warm and friendly service.

Sitting up, a chill swept over him. He wrapped the loose bathrobe tightly and strode to answer the door.

“Mr. Wei…” As soon as the door opened, Luo Yi’an immediately broke into a smile, but when her gaze fell on his muscular, solid chest and sensual chest hair, her face instantly blushed and her heart raced. She quickly averted her eyes, fixing them above his neck, not daring to look around.

Aware of her reaction, understanding it was because of himself, Wei Tianlang curved his lips in a smile. “Can’t be helped. I have no clothes to change into, only this bathrobe.”

Even her shy expression was adorable!
