Cunning CEO Loves to Be Jealous

To calm everyone’s minds, the dissidents’ plan to launch a bomb attack during the election was kept strictly confidential. They didn’t dare leak a word to the media. Even after breaking such a big case, they had quietly borrowed this discreet location for a celebration party. It was unlikely the media would find out.

But thinking about the Taiwanese media’s ability to dig up dirt, a chill ran down her spine. She couldn’t be sure they could truly block the media.

”Is that so? From the information I’ve received, several media outlets are already paying attention to this police operation and preparing to investigate further. Ms. Fang, if you don’t believe me, you can continue drinking and having fun. But Shi Xuan and I must leave first.”

After saying this with a smile, he indeed saw Fang Xinlan’s expression change, and he calmly led Shi Xuan away.

Sitting in the car, Shi Xuan asked in surprise, “Zhang, was what you said true? Are the media paying attention?”

An Zhang winked at her and said, “If I hadn’t said that, they might have truly planned to drink until they were completely drunk today.”

He didn’t care how others wanted to have fun, but they shouldn’t bother him and waste his time. Especially since Fang Xinlan had brazenly demanded five years of free intelligence from him last time. This was just a small lesson for her. He wasn’t someone who could be easily threatened.

”Everyone’s been working hard to investigate the bomb terrorist recently. Captain Fang probably wanted to give everyone a chance to relax,” she said, glancing at his profile and catching a cunning smile at the corner of his lips. She suddenly realized he wasn’t as simple as she thought.

Hmm, should she reassess him? Why did Fang Xinlan and Jin Yuanhao always unanimously say he was deep and crafty when mentioning him?

She originally thought they were just biased against him, but it seemed she might not know his other side at all.

”Why do you keep looking at me? What are you thinking?” Noticing her unusual gaze, An Zhang asked.

”I’m thinking,” she said, propping her chin and carefully examining him, “I seem to not know you well enough.”

”Why would you suddenly think that?”

  ”Answer me one thing first.”

  ”Go ahead.”

”Was it you who arranged for that female floor manager to go into Yuanhao’s room for a survey in Kaohsiung?” Jin Yuanhao always claimed innocence, and from what she knew of him, he wasn’t the type to do something without owning up to it.

”Do you think I had a reason to do so?” An Zhang looked at her, his handsome face so sincere that it made her doubt her suspicions.

”I also think you had no reason to do this, but Yuanhao isn’t the type to do something and then try to hide it.”

”Maybe that floor manager simply admired Yuanhao and used that as an excuse to approach him.”

Unable to think of other possibilities, Shi Xuan shrugged. “Maybe.”

A sand truck was parked on the slope ahead, occupying the already narrow road. An Zhang slowed down to pass it, and Shi Xuan frowned, awkwardly laughing as the driver was urinating by the roadside.

  ”Did you see?”

  ”Just a bit.”

”Go home and wash your eyes to prevent styes.”

She laughed, “I’ve seen yours many times and haven’t gotten styes.”

”How can you compare me to that person? I’m your dear husband. You can look at me as many times as you want without getting styes.”

”Not yet,” she said with a slight blush.

”I’ve already considered you my wife in my heart.”

Shi Xuan gazed at him, and An Zhang reached out to intertwine their fingers.

Looking down at their joined hands, she felt happiness firmly grasped. She smiled contentedly.

Arriving at the bottom of the slope, he suddenly stopped the car by a convenience store.

”Xuan, can you help me buy a bottle of mineral water? My mouth is full of alcohol taste, and I can’t stand it. I want to kiss you, but I don’t like the alcohol taste myself, and I don’t want you to smell it.”

”Okay, wait a moment.” She got out of the car and went into the store to buy water. When she came out, she casually looked up and happily waved to him in the car.

”The moon is so round and bright tonight. Do you want to come out and take a look?

“Okay.” Leaving the car, An Zhang walked towards her. Seeing her face suddenly change, she cried out in terror—

“Be careful! Quick, run away from there!” She shouted with all her strength, running towards him.

He was momentarily confused but quickly ran towards her as instructed. Suddenly, a loud boom erupted behind him. When he turned back, he was stunned in shock. The sand and gravel truck had just crashed into his car, forcefully pushing it towards a residential house by the roadside under the massive impact.

The two-story residential house had a large dent in its wall, raising a cloud of dust. His white BMW was almost completely destroyed, a pitiful sight.

Shi Xuan came to his side and hugged him tightly. She couldn’t bear to imagine what would have happened if he had still been in the car moments ago.

“Are you okay?” Her voice trembled, her frightened heartbeat unable to calm down.

“I’m fine.” Embracing her, he could feel her shoulders slightly shaking. He held her tenderly, “Fortunately, you called me out to look at the moon. Otherwise, I might not be standing here hugging you now.”

“You’re… okay.” Her voice choked. Only now could she somewhat understand his feelings when she was near death.

The moment she saw the sand and gravel truck speeding down, her heart seemed to leap from her chest, her liver and gall splitting with fear.

A person ran down from the nearby slope – the driver who had been taking a break earlier. Seeing from a distance that the sand and gravel truck, which he had been too lazy to engage the parking brake on, had crashed into an expensive imported car and damaged a residential house, he was frozen in fear, not knowing how to handle the aftermath.

Fortunately, this accident did not cause any personal injury, only property damage. After handling the follow-up issues, they returned to An’s home, and it was nearly eleven o’clock. Shi Xuan unexpectedly saw a long-missed friend.

“Man Yue?”

“Shi Xuan, when did you get back?” Seeing Shi Xuan enter with An Zhang, Xie Man Yue was even more surprised.

“What are you doing here?” An Zhang’s gaze instantly turned cold.

Xie Man Yue felt her heart skip a beat under his gaze, stammering, “Today is Han Leng’s birthday. You haven’t come over, so I thought you might be held up. I specially brought a birthday cake.”

She had reminded him yesterday, and he hadn’t refused. Waiting all night and growing impatient, she used the cake as an excuse to come over, never expecting to see Shi Xuan again.

Could they be rekindling their old relationship? Xie Man Yue’s face turned pale. After all her efforts, was she still unable to replace Shi Xuan?

When you left back then, she broke up with Huang Yingzhang soon after and came to pester me.

I’ve heard about this, but I didn’t know she broke up with Ah Zhang because of you. I heard that Ah Zhang was depressed for a long time because of this, and eventually went abroad to study, and hasn’t returned until now.

For Huang Yingzhang, their breakup should have been good. After all, Xie Manyue never loved him from beginning to end. Forcing someone who doesn’t love him to stay by his side would have been a real hurt for Huang Yingzhang.

“Perhaps,” he raised an eyebrow, his bright eyes fixed directly on him, and she asked, “Living closely with such a beautiful woman, did she ever try to take liberties with you?”

She wasn’t worried about him losing control; she trusted him one hundred percent. It was just that he was like a delicious top-tier cake, so tempting that those coveting him would find it hard to resist making a move.
