Dealing with Tigers

Memory has a formula: recite daily, review after a few days, then a week later, then several weeks, months… and you’ll remember it forever. And now, I no longer need to review because it’s already etched in my heart, firmly. No more words were spoken; the two of us walked together for a stroll. Actually, there was no need for words, like old friends who understand each other deeply, just enjoying each other’s company was enough. Ke Xuan is a patch of moss on my heart, indelible. And a small seedling has grown into a big tree. It holds up a sky, allowing me to comfortably look up beneath its branches. The tree might grow larger, age, then die, or perhaps another seedling will sprout from the ground, only to wither soon… but the moss remains there. Not able to grow into a tree, nor bearing flowers or fruits, it naturally occupies a large area. That’s about the meaning of it. The day after the wedding, I received a call from Ke Xuan. He said he would be away for some time and wanted to take me to a place before he left, and to bring Er Yu along. I agreed. The salty sea breeze, the scorching sun, a mother and son, big and small, wearing heart-shaped sunglasses, were lying on a private yacht enjoying the sunbathing… A glass of juice was handed to me, and I took a satisfying big gulp, tipping the server, but he, ungratefully, knocked my head and took back the juice, offering it to the little master lying beside me. Who knew, the little master showed no expression, slightly moving his hand to signal, “NO, THANKS”… I rolled my eyes twice and took back the tip. Comrade Li Ke Xuan, holding the juice, along with his enthusiasm, was cooled by this sudden cold wind, showing black lines on his face, appearing utterly incredulous.
