After Yun Rou brought some necessary supplies and left, only the two of them remained in the private observation room.
”Give me paper and a pen.” Her briefcase was taken home by Yun Rou at his insistence.
”This minor injury shouldn’t be for writing a farewell note, right?”
She was furious with him. “I want to record the key points of tonight’s eyewitness account!”
Wei Zhan Yi hadn’t responded when the door was gently knocked, and a nurse mother entered.
”I’ll give Miss Ding an antibiotic and pain injection.”
”Please.”
The nurse skillfully disinfected the needle and administered the medication.
”Please turn slightly for an ear temperature check.” Her movements were practiced. “37.5 degrees, temperature is good. If you have a fever at night, please notify me, and I’ll bring an ice pillow immediately.”
Wei Zhan Yi listened carefully and nodded seriously.
Ding Qing Yan glared at him. He wasn’t her close relative, so why was he staying by her side when she had a minor ailment? So troublesome!
”Nurse, can I have a thermometer to check her temperature?” He smiled.
The nurse smiled when she heard “Miss”. “That won’t be necessary. We’ll check every four hours. If you’re worried, you can use forehead-to-forehead contact, just be careful.”
Forehead-to-forehead? Qing Yan’s face suddenly burned hot. But, remembering how he had just listened intently, as if hearing an important report, she suddenly had a strange feeling… It seemed like he really cared about her.
”Now, checking blood pressure and pulse.” After the nurse’s practiced movements, she pressed two fingers on the inside of Qing Yan’s wrist, watching her watch. “Blood pressure is a bit high, and pulse is slightly rapid.”
”It’s because of him!” She complained like a child tattling.
The nurse smiled slightly, interpreting it as lovers’ banter.
Wei Zhan Yi frowned slightly. “High blood pressure? Do we need medication?”
”Not yet. The blood pressure increase might be due to pain. Miss Ding’s condition is generally good. If there are no other issues, she can be discharged the day after tomorrow afternoon.”
”The day after tomorrow afternoon!?” She exclaimed in disbelief.
The nurse gave her a sympathetic look and left.
