Everyone Loves the CEO

In the small living room, three women gathered around an induction cooker, slurping hot pot. Besides Pang De Nü, the other two were her roommates Lin Ling Qi and You Xiao Mi.

Do you seem to look down on your boss?” Xiao Qi asked. De Nü always couldn’t help but hint at sarcasm whenever she talked about her female colleagues’ adoration for the big boss.

“There’s nothing to look down on. He’s my boss, he pays my salary, I provide my services, that’s all.” De Nü recalled Long Jie’s focused gaze, and her skin broke out in strange goosebumps. It’s all his fault! Recently, he keeps staring at her, making her very uncomfortable.

She liked being an invisible person, preferably someone with no sense of presence. Because this way she could do her own things, like in this case, where no one would guess she was the publisher of the electronic newsletter. They probably even doubted whether she had ever read this newsletter!

“But since all the women in your company love the boss so much, he must be pretty good, right?” Xiao Mi chimed in while waiting for the meat to cook.

“He’s not bad!” De Nü shrugged. “If I had a stable family, earned millions annually, drove luxury cars, looked good, and happened to have the title of ‘CEO’, women would love me too.” Did they really care what Long Jie was thinking? She was highly skeptical.

“Then why haven’t you fallen in love with him?” Xiao Mi’s response was more naive but hit the nail on the head.

De Nü was speechless, taking two deep breaths before speaking. “Because I’m more practical and don’t love superficial things.” That man attracted so many women, just dealing with their covetous gazes would consume so much energy! Only a fool would date such a person.

Besides, she wasn’t even interested in dating ordinary men. Recent men were less and less dependable, lacking shoulders to lean on. According to her temper, she might kick the other person to death first!

“I used to think the same way,” Xiao Mi wrinkled her nose and continued eating. Xiao Qi secretly smiled.

De Nü glared fiercely at Xiao Mi’s head.

Ha ha, who knows how fate will develop?

Long Jie sat down on the side sofa in the reception area and picked up a newspaper to read.

Xie Qi’er was stunned. “You just ran over here to read the newspaper?” If Long Jie had no intention of uncovering the mysterious guest, he was about to go on a date.

“You can leave if you have something to do,” Long Jie didn’t want to pay him much attention.

“You…” Sometimes Xie Qi’er really felt that Long Jie and his cold, rigid secretary were a perfect match, with that chilly gaze that made everyone seem like an idiot, which was uncomfortable.

Alas! But he was the boss!

Xie Qi’er could only sit down dejectedly and continue working, waiting to see what Long Jie was planning. He surely wouldn’t have come here just to read the newspaper, right?

Sure enough, twenty minutes later, Long Jie put down the newspaper and picked up his things, heading towards the door.

“Hey, where are you going?” Xie Qi’er followed him out, saw Long Jie enter the elevator, and quickly slipped in after him. “Can’t you wait for me?” His handsome face was almost caught by the elevator door!

“Shut up,” Long Jie snapped, and Xie Qi’er immediately swallowed his string of complaints.

The elevator silently opened on the thirty-third floor. Long Jie walked leisurely towards his office, his hand on the doorknob, slowly opening the door.

Everything happened in that instant, and the answer was revealed!

Sitting at the CEO’s desk, typing away on the keyboard, was none other than Miss Pang De.

“Ah!” Xie Qi’er’s mouth gaped wide open.

Long Jie’s face, however, showed no expression, and the caught culprit, while surprised in her eyes, didn’t seem panicked at all.

In any case, the only panicked person was Xie Qi’er.

“Why did you do this?” Long Jie asked slowly, though this matched his suspicions, he still felt surprised.

“Why else? Isn’t it interesting?” Pang De casually leaned back, discovering that the CEO’s chair was quite comfortable to sit in.

Anyway, even if she was going to be fired, it was too late to do anything now. She might as well stay calm; maybe things weren’t as bad as they seemed.

For her, Long Jie could almost be said to admire her. After all, not many women could remain so calm in such a situation, and the way she sat in his chair almost made her look like a boss.

“This has earned you quite a bit of extra money?” Long Jie pointed to the electronic newspaper on the computer, now openly displayed before him.

“Yes! I didn’t expect such a hot response. This is all thanks to the CEO’s continuing charm,” she had earned a lot of money because of him yesterday, as he didn’t participate in the sports competition, causing all those who bet on him to get MVP to lose.

“Didn’t you think about the consequences of me finding out? Do you think I would allow such gambling behavior in the company?”

Actually, Pang De had initially just been doing this for fun, planning to end the electronic newspaper after this last issue, but she hadn’t expected to be discovered by Long Jie.

“I don’t know what you’re thinking, but I’ve never intentionally hidden the fact that I’m the sender of the electronic newspaper,” Pang De shrugged.

“Really?” Xie Qi’er, who had been left aside, finally found a chance to interject. “You even deliberately used Long Jie’s computer to send it out. This is clearly trying to confuse everyone! If we hadn’t stumbled upon this today, who would have suspected you?” Why was he increasingly admiring her?

“I said I’ve never hidden anything,” Pang De reiterated, as if speaking to an idiot, barely containing her patience. “So tell me, who writes the columns in the electronic newspaper?”

“Isha, Michelle… Sophie, it’s all right here!” Xie Qi’er pointed to the materials on the desk, confidently answering. Still want to argue? Clearly, these were pseudonyms!

Pang De glanced at Long Jie, noticing his unfathomable gaze.

“I ask you, in the 007 series movie ‘GoldenEye’, what is the female lead’s name?” Her eyes were on Long Jie, but the question was for Xie Qi’er.

About movies? This was no challenge! Xie Qi’er happily said, “She’s a beautiful woman, Izabella Scorupco.”

“And in ‘Tomorrow Never Dies’, who is the female lead?”

Her gaze met Long Jie’s, and she knew he wasn’t stupid and was already connecting her hints.

“Yang Ziqiong, of course!” Obviously, everyone knew this.

“Yang Ziqiong’s English name is Michelle,” Pang De added. “What about ‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon’?”

“Sophie Marceau, I suppose! You’ve been rambling for so long, what are you trying to say?” Xie Qi’er was losing patience.

“She’s already told you the answer,” Long Jie, being a friend, couldn’t bear to see him humiliated by Pang De and quickly spoke up.

“She hasn’t said anything… she just asked about a bunch of Bond girls’ names…” He suddenly stopped. “You…” Oh my God!

Yes, he finally understood.

Pang De and Long Jie exchanged a comforting glance.

Izabella Scorupco, Michelle, and Sophie Marceau, or Isha, Michelle, and Sophie, were all Bond girls, representing Pang De.

Xie Qi’er’s expression looked like he’d swallowed a lizard, which greatly amused the two who should have been adversaries.

Pang De suppressed the smile at the corner of her mouth. “Okay, how are you going to deal with me?”

Long Jie said nothing, just stared deeply and directly into her eyes.

That focused gaze made her uneasy…

Zhan Qing, “Everyone Loves the CEO

Chapter 4 Longjie’s composure surprised her, perhaps she did not understand her boss as well as she thought. After secretly spending a few hours imagining what kind of man he was, she no longer allowed herself to waste any energy on him.
