Food and Farm: Bringing a Prince to Cultivate the Land – Part -Two

“Brother, you’re the reasonable one; your sister is too infuriating.”

Jiang Ling said to Xie Tong.

How could Xie Li bear such words? She lunged at Jiang Ling.

In an instant, the two were entangled in a scuffle.

Su Ping’an and Xie Li hurried to intervene.

Not only did Su Ping’an fail to pull Xie Li away, but he also got kicked by her. Xie Tong wasn’t faring much better; he was pushed by Jiang Ling and hit the edge of a table.

Jiang Yan quickly learned of the situation and rushed over.

“Jiang Ling, stop!”

Jiang Ling always listened to Jiang Yan.

Seeing Jiang Yan, she pushed Xie Li away and stood by her side: “Sister, it wasn’t me who started it; she hit me first. Look at the marks she left on my hand.”

“And you didn’t scratch me?”

Xie Li bared her neck.

Xie Tong: “…”

He really couldn’t bear to watch.

Jiang Yan called them to the back hall to talk, not wanting them to disturb others while they were eating.

“What exactly happened?”

Jiang Yan asked Jiang Ling.

Before Jiang Ling could speak, Xie Li started complaining.

“My brother and I came to your shop to eat, wanting to see why so many people like your food, but your sister served us and then immediately told us to leave!”

“And you wonder why I told you to leave, don’t you?”

Jiang Ling snorted.

Jiang Yan now understood the situation.

She looked at Xie Tong and said, “Given what you did before, it’s not surprising my sister reacted this way, though she went a bit too far. I’ll apologize on her behalf. However, our shop really doesn’t welcome you, so please don’t come again.”

“If your shop hadn’t taken our business, we wouldn’t have come here.”

Xie Li muttered, not quietly.

Jiang Yan heard it clearly.

“Your shop took our business? How can you say that? Were they eating at your place before you even opened? Even if that was the case, business is about skill. If you’re worried about stealing business, why even bother with business? I’m not here to make money; why would I open a shop?”

Xie Li was left speechless by Jiang Yan.

Xie Tong clasped his hands in apology: “Miss Jiang, you’re right. This is all my sister’s fault.”

“Alright, I won’t say more. Both of our younger sisters got hurt today. Since that’s the case, let’s each take care of our own sister; no need for compensation. Do you have any objections?”

Jiang Yan inquired.

Xie Tong shook his head: “I have no objections.”

“I do!”

“I’m more seriously injured than she is.”

Xie Li started to scratch her clothes.

Xie Tong immediately restrained her: “Is this the place for your antics? Enough, let’s go!”

Jiang Ling watched their retreating figures and couldn’t help but laugh.

Jiang Yan tapped her head: “You, still laughing? Next time something like this happens, don’t be so reckless. Even if they don’t get along with us, don’t chase them out in front of everyone. Otherwise, people might think we’re no different from them…”

Jiang Ling lowered her eyes: “Sister, I know I was wrong. I couldn’t control myself at that moment.”

“Alright, go rest for a while.”

Jiang Yan didn’t want to blame her too harshly.

She knew her sister well; everything was fine, except her temper was a bit too fiery and straightforward.

After lunch.

Jiang Yan noticed Su Ping’an rubbing his leg and approached: “Cousin Ping’an, what’s wrong? Does your leg hurt?”

Su Ping’an hadn’t intended to tell her.

Jiang Ling, remembering the earlier incident, came over: “Sister, it’s not what you think. Cousin Ping’an’s leg hurts because he was kicked by Xie Li. That girl was fierce!”

Hearing this, Su Ping’an slightly pulled up the corner of his mouth: “She was fierce, but you weren’t? I saw you push Xie Tong into the table clearly.”

“Really? I didn’t even notice.”

Jiang Ling scratched her head, embarrassed.

Jiang Yan hadn’t known about this before.

Had she known, she would’ve made sure Xie Tong saw a doctor, at her expense.

Regarding this matter, Jiang Yan couldn’t help but lecture Jiang Ling again: “This kind of thing must not happen again. If someone gets seriously injured, it’ll be a big trouble.”

“Sister, I understand.”

Jiang Ling felt somewhat guilty, knowing that Xie Tong had seemed reasonable all along, yet she had caused him injury.

After some thought, Jiang Ling slipped out the back door with some money when Jiang Yan and others weren’t paying attention.

She went to a medical hall to buy some ointment.

Jiang Ling walked to Xie Tong’s place.

Xie Li had been sent home by Xie Tong, leaving only Xie Tong, his staff, and the chef in the shop.

After a quick glance to confirm Xie Li wasn’t there, Jiang Ling called out to Xie Tong.

“Mr. Xie.”

Jiang Ling didn’t know Xie Tong’s first name, so she just called him by his surname.

Xie Tong was surprised to hear someone call him, and seeing it was Jiang Ling, he was taken aback: “What brings you here? You’re not here to fight with my sister, are you?”

“I’m not that fond of fighting.”

Jiang Ling’s face turned red; she coughed and approached him, handing over the ointment: “Here, for you. I was wrong today, causing you to get hurt. I’m sorry.”

So it was about this.

Xie Tong took it, glanced outside, and asked, “Did you come alone?”

“I know the way; what’s wrong with coming alone? Anyway, I won’t talk much. I’m leaving!” Jiang Ling turned to leave.

Xie Tong hesitated but decided to have someone escort her back.
