Four Kings and One Queen 2

“Amitabha, it seems the little girl is growing up,” the old bald monk sighed, then was punched away by the unhappy Wudang grandfather. “Wow, my granddaughter is so beautiful!” Grandmother Ning’s eyes turned into heart shapes. “Who’s your granddaughter? She’s clearly mine!” Grandfather Yue said childishly. “What are you arguing about!”…

“Huh? It’s strange, why do I feel like there are sounds on the roof?” The guard outside was frustrated. “Haven’t you cleaned your ears in days? It’s clearly the sound inside.” Guard B rolled his eyes at Guard A, and Guard C said: “Stop arguing, or you’ll lose your lives if discovered!”…

At the wedding, three of them propped up their chins, looking jealously at the couple getting married.

“Why? Why is he the first to marry Han’er? I’ve known her much earlier!” Yi Mo grumbled, exuding a thick vinegar smell. Shang sighed glumly, whispering: “I was the first… yet someone cut in line.”

“I’m going to rebel!” Bao Xi shouted, about to truly rebel, but was immediately covered by Shang’s hand. “You stay put.”

“Enter the bridal chamber!” The officiant’s voice almost collapsed the entire house. The three’s hearts skipped a beat, and they couldn’t sit still. They all stood up and told the accompanying official: “I need to use the restroom!” Then they disappeared in a flash, leaving the frustrated officials behind.

At this moment, Shu Yang was preparing to lift Han’er’s veil, his hand trembling from nervousness. The matchmaker smiled and said, “Your Majesty, don’t be nervous, just stay calm.”

“Could you… leave?” he stammered, blushing. The matchmaker hesitated, “But, Your Majesty, the ceremonial wine…”

“Just leave it,” Shu Yang ordered, and the matchmakers bowed and left.

Outside, the matchmakers giggled, “Didn’t expect the Emperor to be so shy, how cute!” Nearby, three anxiously crouched in the bushes. Shang announced, “Begin the operation!”

In the room, Shu Yang hesitated before finally mustering the courage to lift my veil. I playfully winked at him, “Darling husband, am I beautiful today?” Surprised, he replied, “Yes, very beautiful!”

“But this phoenix crown is quite a burden. Could you help me take it off?” I smiled charmingly, pointing at the crown. Shu Yang gently nodded and smiled, carefully helping me remove it, taking out the ‘chopsticks’ from my hair one by one.

I moved my head, “Ah~ Much more comfortable!” I spun around and said to Shu Yang, “Help me take off this robe too! It’s so hot.” Shu Yang obediently helped me take it off. I flopped onto the soft bed, “Wow— this bed is so comfortable.”

“Hehe, Xiao Han, this is actually called a couch,” Shu Yang corrected with a smile. I pouted, “Hey, you should change how you address me now! Call me your wife!” He looked embarrassed, “Seems… not quite used to it.”

I suggested, “Then you can call me ‘Madam Wife’!” Shu Yang, oblivious to the significance, nodded, “Okay! Madam Wife.”

Suddenly, I felt a faint pain in my stomach. “Oh? It seems like the baby is kicking me. Do you want to listen?” Shu Yang was full of joy: “Really?” He put his ear on my stomach and listened quietly, “It’s true…”

Suddenly, the door was kicked open without warning. “Hey! Shu, aren’t you going too far~!” Yu Ci shouted as he rushed in. When we locked eyes, we all froze.

“What are you doing?” I frowned, “Trying to crash our wedding night?”

“No~we just thought he was bullying you… Hehe, seems like a misunderstanding.” Bao Xi laughed foolishly and scratched his head.

Get out~!!!” I howled like a wolf, and the three of them ran away as if saving their lives. “Close the door for me!!!”

As soon as the words fell, the door closed with a ‘bang’.

In the candlelight, a romantic atmosphere filled the room. I looked up and saw Shu Yang’s affectionate eyes, slightly reddened in the dim light.

“Shu Yang…” I called out instinctively. His breathtakingly beautiful face loomed closer, and then his petal-soft lips covered mine. I cooperatively closed my eyes and embraced him.

Outside, the three of them were peeking through the window, gritting their teeth. “If I don’t deal with this Shu guy later, I’m not surnamed Yun!!” Bao Xi muttered resentfully.

Meanwhile, the officials in the hall looked depressed, wondering why the Emperor had been gone so long.

[Volume Four: Inseparable, Chapter 89: Ambiguous?]

I stayed in the palace for several days due to wedding arrangements. After the wedding, the other three emperors were escorted back to the palace. Finally, on this day, Qi Ye came to pick me up to take me back to the First Under Heaven Hall. “But we should say goodbye to Shu Yang, right? Leaving like this might be tricky.”

“Okay.”

“Qi Ye casually led me towards the imperial study.

To avoid being discovered during my absence from the palace, I asked Shu Yang not to arrange palace maids or eunuchs for me, leaving the inner palace almost empty. My enormous palace had always been occupied by only me. If Shu Yang hadn’t often come to keep me company these days, I might have fallen ill from boredom.

“Shu Yang!” I shouted as I rushed into the imperial study. Shu Yang was reviewing documents, and Lan was by the window enjoying the scenery. Upon hearing my voice, he turned to me. Even though I had become the empress, Lan was still not courteous; in this private setting, he would never bow. He looked at me for a moment before shifting his gaze to Qi Ye. “What’s the matter?” Shu Yang’s smile was as warm as the morning sun.

“Actually, I just feel bored in the palace, and I want to leave to handle some matters at the First Under Heaven Hall.” I rushed to Shu Yang’s side and nestled in his embrace like a spoiled child, “Can I?” Shu Yang indulgently hugged me and shook his head, “Of course, but take care of yourself.”

I nodded eagerly, “So you’ll stay in the palace?” Shu Yang smiled helplessly, “Yes, I haven’t returned to handle palace affairs for a long time and have fallen behind.”

“I see… then okay.” I said somewhat regretfully, then jumped out of Shu Yang’s embrace. “I’ll see if I can come back after handling my matters!” Shu Yang nodded. As I was about to leave with Qi Ye, I noticed Qi Ye and Lan staring at each other.

“What are you doing?” I asked curiously, but no one answered.

Lan raised an eyebrow at Qi Ye, as if to say: ‘Shall we compare?’

Qi Ye disdainfully glanced at him, ‘Let’s compare.’

Lan smiled like a child who got candy, then drew his sword and flew towards Qi Ye at incredible speed. Just as Lan’s sword was about to pierce Qi Ye, Qi Ye dodged with a side step, prompting an appreciative glance from Lan: ‘Not bad speed.’

Qi Ye raised his chin proudly, ‘Of course.’

I was puzzled by how they were communicating; their eye contact had very little exchange.

While I was feeling frustrated, Qi Ye had already started fighting Lan with an ice blade. Shu Yang and I exchanged helpless glances, watching the two fight.

The outcome was clear from the start. No matter how skilled Lan was, he was just an ordinary person, while Qi Ye was a thousand-year-old snow fox demon. I really wanted to see what the proud Lan would look like when defeated.

Thinking this, I couldn’t help but feel a bit mischievous.

Lan was breathing heavily, kneeling on one knee, his sword fallen beside him. His clothes were tattered, and his body covered in superficial wounds. Qi Ye had already shown mercy during the rescue of Yu Mo in the demon cult’s secret room, where he had swiftly eliminated numerous enemies.

“You won,” Lan finally admitted, and Qi Ye smiled triumphantly as he approached, asking, “Need help?” Lan nodded, wishing for a few more words of encouragement.

Qi Ye helped Lan up out of friendliness, asking, “You okay?” “Okay,” Lan replied, a rare feat of speech for him, leaving even Shu Yang incredulous. However, I noticed something peculiar—Lan’s gaze toward Qi Ye seemed ambiguous.
