“Hey, hey, hey, don’t go!” Seeing Hao Yunyang about to turn and leave, the man panicked, quickly calling him back, sighing as if he was about to suffer a huge loss, gritting his teeth: “Six-eighty, I’ll give it to you for six-eighty!”
Chapter Four: It Actually Connected
“Are you treating me like a fool?” Hao Yunyang turned back, glancing at the boss with his expressive face, curling his lip: “Four hundred yuan, plus a SIM card and fifty yuan of call credit.”
“That’s too low, add a bit more,” the boss, stunned by Hao Yunyang’s bargaining, stammered: “Four hundred yuan doesn’t even cover the cost price, and you want an additional fifty yuan and a SIM card…”
“Alright, bye, I’ll check other stores,” Hao Yunyang waved his hand, hands in his pockets. Though still wearing that eye-catching work uniform, he had a bit of a carefree, wandering spirit.
“Come back, it’s yours!” After walking three steps, without the boss speaking, when Hao Yunyang’s leg was already out the door, the boss sighed in defeat: “Let me tell you, if I didn’t think you were a decent guy, I’d never sell it for four hundred yuan, even if it rotted in the store. The fifty yuan of call credit and SIM card can’t be chosen – just take a random one, whatever number it is, okay?”
“Fine.” Hao Yunyang had never been picky about phone numbers, as long as it could connect. Who cares if it has the number four? Besides, the number four can be pronounced musically – that counts as a pronunciation!
After playing with the phone in his hand and taking two not-quite-clear photos at the phone store entrance, Hao Yunyang randomly pulled out a SIM card from the stack and continued fiddling with the phone without even looking.
Though the phone had no brand name, it had quite complete functions, or at least complete in Hao Yunyang’s eyes. It had everything he needed – he only used his phone to make calls and send texts, rarely logging into QQ. Even though a monthly data package was only two yuan, with the mindset of saving every cent, Hao Yunyang usually logged into QQ using a colleague’s phone.
In his words, this wasn’t being stingy, this was being thrifty, this was managing a household wisely!
