Imperial Lover

"What are you thanking me for?"

"Thank you... for saving me..."

Ilso chuckled softly: "I didn't expect these little lips of yours could say such words."

Di Qi hugged him, burying her face in his chest. She didn't yet know how to face herself or this reality, but she knew that Ilso was all she had left.

Di Qi was spying on "Fucks" again.

Although Ilso said Kai had not been punished, just disappeared, she still harbored a grudge against Fucks and couldn't let it go. Moreover, having to endure various research and experiments by the scientist named Sains, she wanted to find something special to do.

"Fucks" sensed her gaze and uneasily opened his eyes, wanting to hide but having nowhere to go.

In Di Qi's eyes, he was Fucks' avatar, and bullying him was equivalent to taking revenge on Fucks.

She made faces at him, baring her teeth and claws, even "beating" him. He was like an animal trapped in a cage, at the mercy of the spectators outside. He couldn't escape, and his cries for help went unheard, which made Di Qi feel at ease.

But once again, she was caught by Fucks.

Fucks could appear at any time, and she couldn't always avoid him. Seeing her bullying his subject again, Fucks flew into a rage, skipping verbal abuse and immediately dragging her out.

By the time Sains noticed something was wrong and came to stop him, Di Qi had already been taken away from the research lab.

It was obvious that Fucks would kill her. Sains quickly contacted Ilso, knowing that if they couldn’t stop Fucks in time, all their efforts would be in vain.

Outside the research lab, on a deserted road, Di Qi was locked in a vehicle, driving to an unknown destination.

No matter how much she struggled or cried for help this time, she couldn’t escape. She was now at the mercy of others. The difference was that she had bullied “Fucks,” while the real Fucks was now going to eliminate her.

A sudden bomb came from a black car that appeared out of nowhere. The black car sped over and stopped in front of them in the blink of an eye. The car door opened, and several bodyguards jumped out with top-tier machine guns. Then, a blonde, blue-eyed man stepped out of the car with an extremely elegant and composed demeanor.

“Ilso—” someone whispered, followed by a restless commotion.

Before they could deal with this troublesome guy, another equally troublesome one had arrived. They were not capable of handling two such individuals simultaneously, and Ilso clearly came prepared. Was today going to be the day of their destruction? Having missed this chance, their fate seemed sealed to perish here.

Was this truly going to be their final resting place?

Despair had already appeared in their eyes.

However, Ilso didn’t even glance at them, instead calmly walking towards Fux’s car. With their greatest enemy right in front of them, no one dared to obstruct him, and they all retreated to the sides. They all understood that they no longer had a chance.

Ilso walked to Fux’s car door, with Fux’s gun still pointed at his chest.

“Fux, where’s my Di Qi?”

After a few seconds, the gun was lowered, and the car door opened. Fux stepped out, sneering, “What, here to pick up your little dog?”

“Fux, I’ll ask one last time, where’s Di Qi?”

“Probably had her brains blown out by some stray bullet…”

Before he could finish, a gun barrel was already pressed against his head. Ilso, having taken a gun from his bodyguard, coldly said, “My patience isn’t much better than yours, and my gun isn’t blind either.”

Fux laughed, “Don’t shoot if you don’t dare.”

Ilso also laughed, “Oh, you’re betting I won’t shoot? Want to bet on whether I’d dare shoot at your little guy?”

Fux stared at him grimly, saying nothing.

“Want to bet?”

Fux remained silent, and Ilso wasn’t in a hurry. This standoff gave the surviving rebels a chance to retreat, which they did quickly and silently. Neither Ilso nor Fux cared about these defeated soldiers’ retreat; they had more important matters.

“I… Ilso…” Di Qi’s weak voice came from under the car.

She thought she was about to be blown to pieces, closing her eyes and waiting.

After a long silence, she opened her eyes and heard Ilso’s voice. For a while, she couldn’t believe this miracle. Perhaps Ilso didn’t want her to die; as long as he didn’t want her to die, she wouldn’t die.

Ilso withdrew his gun, looking at her dusty appearance: “You look terrible. I remember teaching you not to run around.”

Di Qi thought, If you hadn’t arrived in time, I would look even worse. She got up without saying much, just tugging his sleeve, “Ilso, let’s go. I’m cold.”

Seeing the bodies of her former companions lying on the ground, helplessly dying, she felt exhausted—an accumulated weariness from her past life.

Everything went smoothly. She passed many people and surveillance cameras until she returned to her original room, with no one questioning her. Fucks was nowhere to be seen. It was like a dead city here.

The room hadn’t changed at all, and she understood that she had been forgotten. She found all her valuable jewelry, cut off the gemstone buttons from her clothes, removed the crystal heels from her shoes, pried off the agate from the cup, and packed all the spare medicines and supplements, tying them to her legs inside her dress.

When she was done packing, it was late at night. She walked out of the building, seemingly hearing disdain and mockery behind her.

Perhaps she shouldn’t have come to this place at all. Just before leaving, she suddenly wanted to visit Mirror Lake, the place Dichi loved most. Maybe the great divine being would provide her with a path to salvation in her confusion.

Walking into the forest surrounding Mirror Lake, moonlight filtered through the treetops, creating an indescribable beauty and tranquility, like a dream. Kayi felt dazed again… Dichi… she thought of Dichi again, and her heart could not be calm, with pain starting to torment her endlessly.

She covered her chest and leaned against a tree trunk, calling out to Dichi: “Dichi, where are you? How can I reach you? Tell me, great divine being, save my soul…”

Perhaps the divine being heard her prayer. In her daze, she actually saw Dichi – Dichi walking in the forest, with a graceful figure. Suddenly, she stopped and looked up at the moon, seeming somewhat lost in thought; moonlight fell on her, enveloping her body in a pure silver light.

She saw Dichi! Kayi shed tears; though this was just an illusion, she had finally seen Dichi.

She slowly walked towards Dichi, no matter where Dichi came from or was going, she wanted to go with her. A world without Dichi had no meaning for her existence.

Dichi seemed to sense her approach and suddenly turned her head, giving her a brilliant smile, as warm and touching as when they first met.

Dichi was waiting for her! Kayi ran over with tears of joy, but another person arrived earlier, walking to Dichi’s side. Dichi fell into his embrace, and they kissed passionately.

Kayi froze – this was not a dream.

The person who received Dichi’s smile was Ilso! Ilso, was he coming to take Dichi again? She clenched her fist and slowly walked towards him. This time, she would not let him take Dichi away, absolutely not!

Ilso suddenly looked up, his sharp and cold gaze shooting towards her. He had discovered her!

Kayi was stunned by the murderous and cold intent in his eyes, standing there, facing him. Ilso held Dichi without changing expression, and secretly made a gesture with one hand. Several hidden figures quickly rushed towards Kayi.

Kayi sensed the danger; the killing intent in Ilso’s eyes was too strong.

She quickly retreated, hiding deeper into the forest, but refused to leave. Having finally seen Dichi, she couldn’t leave her again. She would do everything to return to Dichi’s side; nothing could separate them.
