Imperial Lover

Her mind was blank, unable to process Ilso’s sudden attitude change. Just seconds ago, they were dining together without any issues. Why would it change like this?

The car door did not open, Ilso did not appear, and offered no answer. The car simply drove away, and she could not possibly catch up.

Dichi was completely stunned, dazed, just standing there, staring at Ilso’s car shadow.

A long time later, she could finally be sure that such a thing had really happened – Ilso told her that he was no longer interested in her, he was disgusted with her, they would never meet again, goodbye forever.

But she still couldn’t believe the facts would be like this, so she went to find him, but she couldn’t contact Ilso and couldn’t take a single step into the noble area. She was already on the blacklist, and if she took a step into the noble area, she would be warned and intercepted. That tall Eden building, where she had once lived to the point of boredom, now she could only look up from afar.

No matter how much she didn’t understand, Ilso had indeed abandoned her. After spending several days confirming this fact, Dichi went through a brief period of confusion, discomfort, and depression, then intense anger, dissatisfaction, and unwillingness. But she never saw Ilso again and was powerless to do anything.

Dichi appeared quietly in Eden and disappeared just as quietly. Ilso immediately returned to his normal state without Dichi; everything truly returned to normal, and Mis was completely at ease.

Many days later, during a routine parliamentary meeting, Fux encountered Ilso at the entrance of the parliament building. He greeted Ilso: “Ilso, long time no see, how have you been recently?”

Ilso responded coldly and politely: “As good as you.”

Fux burst into laughter: “Is that so? Then I’m relieved. I heard your beloved little dog has gone missing again; I was really worried you’d be lonely and wanted to send a few to help you pass the time.”

He had been secretly observing Ilso and that little wild dog. He hoped that the old lady and her lackeys would focus their attention on Ilso; he also wanted to see how Ilso would handle this matter, and what the old lady would do. Would the old lady treat Ilso the same way she treated him?

Ilso’s smile was reserved and arrogant: “Oh, thanks for your kindness. I know you like dogs, but I thought you knew I like cats. Apparently you didn’t know, how unfortunate. You can’t help me.”

Fux sneered and said: “Yes, it’s truly unfortunate. But I know you probably don’t like cats anymore now. Maybe you don’t like anything anymore.”

Ilso ignored him and strode into the hall.

Fux laughed somewhat eerily behind Ilso’s back. His keen senses could smell that something had probably happened again, so that disobedient little wild cat had completely disappeared from Eden. It must have been the old lady’s doing; otherwise, how could Ilso have let go? Finally, someone else had tasted what he had once tasted.

Ilso didn’t feel unhappy about Fux’s schadenfreude because he indeed no longer loved his little cat.

That night, after abandoning Dichi, Ilso came to “her” palace and underwent surgery. His feelings for Dichi were thus erased, and he became disgusted with the appearance, breath, and smell of that little cat.

Before deciding to abandon Dichi, he was summoned by “her”, and “she” wanted him to give up that girl forever. He refused “her” command for the first time. No matter how angry “she” was, he remained silent and insisted on his view, even when “she” threatened to revoke his position and status.

Finally, “she” gave him two choices: perform surgery on Dichi, or perform surgery on himself, the same surgery as Fux.

He couldn’t prevent “her” from performing surgery on Dichi, so he chose to have surgery on himself – to no longer love and to become disgusted with Dichi. He would rather Dichi trust him while he abandoned her than still love Dichi while being hated by her – the thought was unbearable.

Dichi knew nothing, and she would probably hate him afterward, but that no longer mattered – these were thoughts before the surgery. Now, he would no longer think about or care about anything related to Dichi.

While Fux and Ilso were talking, Xian Yousha stood on the second-floor balcony, smiling at them.

Ah, the same thing had finally happened. Ilso had also received the same punishment as Fux – because God was jealous, jealous of their betrayal of her love for them.

Although he didn’t know what “love” was, he knew that God was lonely, so God created Adam with the gender of “he”.

God loved Adam and, not bearing to see him lonely, created Eve from his rib.

Because she loved Adam, God did not allow them to eat the apple, but the serpent appeared, and Adam and Eve were tempted and ate the forbidden fruit – they fell in love, and God was betrayed. Humans have since suffered the pain of love.

They – Ilso and Fux, beautiful beyond human appearance, royalty, were God’s children. What would happen if they fell in love with Eve?

Fux chose to love only himself, but what would Ilso become?

The meeting was about to begin. Xian Yousha withdrew her gaze and floated into the conference hall.

This meeting had an important agenda item: to significantly increase military expenditure, something the empire had not done for many years. Recently, rebel terrorist attacks against citizens have drastically decreased, but attacks on economic, financial, and military aspects have sharply increased. Defense Minister Fucks believes it is necessary to increase the budget.

This sparked heated discussion among the legislators.

In the more than two hundred years since the empire’s founding, the empire has maintained an absolute advantage through its powerful strength.

The military could easily handle terrorists, so military budgets rarely increased.

Fucks explained that the government had intensified its crackdown on rebels, causing the rebels’ resistance to strengthen. They must strike decisively to eradicate the rebel forces.

Ilso, Xianyousa, Sains, and other top imperial officials supported Fucks’ proposal, though they understood that the budget was excessive.

With their support, the council ultimately passed a motion to increase the military budget by 100%.

While imperial officials were discussing how to eradicate rebels and terrorism, heated arguments were also taking place among rebels in the wilderness at the edge of the slums.

“Why should we join and submit to you?” asked Sass, the leader of the largest guerrilla organization, to the messenger from the newly formed “People’s Unified Front Alliance.”

“Surely you understand that unity can maximize our strength. For many years, multiple anti-government armed groups have fought independently and even against each other, wasting energy and giving the government opportunities. If this continues, we can never threaten the government, let alone overthrow it. Only by uniting and fighting together do we have hope…

Sass lazily responded: “I completely agree with your opinion, but why don’t you join us instead of us joining you?”

The other was just talking nonsense. Any group ambitious about overthrowing the government wants to form and lead a unified front. But who has the power to unite and lead dozens of armed forces with different goals, strengths, and qualities?

He heard the “People’s Unified Front Alliance” had already persuaded over a dozen groups to join, but he didn’t believe they had the ability to be leaders, let alone confront the government. He would not easily surrender his forces.

“Of course you will submit to us, because we have the strongest leadership, the strongest economic resources, the strongest armed forces and intelligence. Besides us, no one has the ability to confront the government,” the messenger said confidently.
