My Ancient Divorce

Gentle breeze blowing, the thin silk curtain brushing across her face, Jie suddenly opened her eyes, discovering she was lying in a strange room. Memories rewinding, she vaguely remembered walking and chatting with Lou Shan Yan in the backyard, recalled singing many songs, and then feeling sleepy, wanting to lean on Shan Yan for a moment, after which everything went blank…

The door creaked open, Han Xue entering with a basin, her expression still cold. Seeing Jie awake, she put down the basin and said, “Since you’re awake, come and groom yourself!”

For some reason, Jie always felt her gaze held deep hostility. Unable to resist, she tentatively asked, “Um, you wouldn’t happen to be in love with Shan Yan, would you?” Besides this, she couldn’t think of another possibility!

A flash of surprise crossed Han Xue’s eyes, but she quickly regained her composure. “Miss, you’re overthinking. The young master is just Han Xue’s master!” Though only a moment, it didn’t escape Jie’s sharp eyes, further solidifying her suspicion!

No wonder. With Lou Shan Yan being such a gentle and handsome man, what woman wouldn’t be moved, especially a maid who’s always by his side. But she was clearly more than just a simple maid!

“Shan Yan and I are just friends!” For some reason, Jie wanted to explain clearly. While Lou Shan Yan inevitably made her heart flutter, she felt more like he was family!

Romantic relationships were so delicate, just like between her and Ye Lu Sheng. She thought she was in love, but ultimately had to leave. Perhaps only friendship could truly last a lifetime!

Han Xue’s hand visibly paused. No matter what she said, her body’s natural reaction couldn’t lie!

After a while, she raised her head and said stiffly, “Thank you!” Though not overly warm, Jie could still sense her sincere goodwill!

She then walked closer, her right hand grasping Jie’s jade-like white hand, clearly feeling the roughness from years of martial arts training!

A girl who was simultaneously a maid, bodyguard, and housekeeper – it was hard to imagine how she managed. The hardship and effort she’d endured were surely beyond Jie’s comprehension. Such a girl truly needed a gentle man to cherish her!

Jie’er laughed mischievously: “Even if there isn’t one now, there will be soon. When you get married, I will definitely help you hold a grand wedding!” Who knows if these modern practices would work in ancient times!

“Miss, you’re getting more and more excessive!” Die’er was both shy and annoyed, wishing she could find a crack in the ground to disappear into. Seeing her bashful appearance, Jie’er’s mood brightened, and she urged her to go back and fetch something.

After Die’er’s figure completely disappeared from her sight, her heart unknowingly sank. Everyone will have their destined life, so what about her? What path would this unexpected passerby ultimately take?

“Yue Yue, are you really going to leave your cousin, leave Mo’er, and abandon the ‘Women’s World’ you single-handedly created, to leave with Lou Shan Yan?” Mo’er walked out from the staircase corner, her starry eyes looking somewhat lacking in anger, obviously having overheard the conversation between Jie’er and her servant.

“I’m just leaving for a short while, I never said I’m not coming back!” Jie’er couldn’t help but rub her temples, wondering what was wrong with these people. She just wanted to go out and relax; did they have to make it seem like a final farewell?

“Is it really just a short leave?” Mo’er’s delicate little face was full of doubt.

Jie’er smiled and said, “Of course. Have you forgotten our beauty salon is still here? Besides, even if I could bear to leave everything behind, I can’t bear to leave our clever and adorable Mo’er!” There was no way with girls except to coax them; this trick never failed.

“Really?” Mo’er’s eyes immediately brightened.

“Really! Really!” Jie’er nodded repeatedly, afraid she wouldn’t believe her and waste more of her breath.

“Can Yue Yue take Mo’er along? Mo’er really wants to go out and see!” Mo’er instantly put on a pitiful and extremely expectant expression.

Damn, this change was too quick! Jie’er suddenly felt like she had fallen into a trap!

With the main people about to leave, what would happen to her beauty salon? She couldn’t let money slip away! Jie’er immediately tried to persuade her: “Mo’er, look at how good the business is. If we all leave and only the young girls remain, what will they do? How about this – I promise to take you out when the shop isn’t busy?”

“Okay then!” Mo’er reluctantly agreed.

“I don’t need to watch the shop, and I’m not afraid of affecting business. Can’t I go with Jie’er?” Lu Xu Ran’s voice untimely sounded from the doorway.

Jie’er immediately threw a murderous glance, “Damn brat, why are you butting in? Go back to your medicine room!” These people must have planned this, deliberately making trouble for her!

“I’m not at ease with you going with that guy. I want to protect Jie’er!” Lu Xu Ran spoke righteously, assuming the pose of a protective knight.

Where are we going?” Jie’er asked curiously.

Fan Yan gave a mysterious smile, “You’ll know when we get there!” Seeing Jie’er pout in dissatisfaction, he added with a laugh, “Little girl, have some patience. That’s how surprises work!”

“Oh!” Jie’er nodded with little energy, unable to resist the temptation of a “surprise”!

Fan Yan took her to the back mountain, where dandelions flew wildly before their eyes, surprisingly in a rare light purple color – Jie’er’s favorite, a dreamy shade!

Jie’er immediately let go of Lou Fan Yan’s hand, rushing into the purple flower sea, laughing heartily, spinning wildly, spinning until she lost all sense of direction, suddenly falling.

In the moment of falling, she saw Lou Fan Yan rushing towards her anxiously, asking nervously, “Yue’er, are you okay?”

The ground was soft, and Jie’er felt no pain. She finally lay spread-eagled, looking up at the sky, with scattered dandelions blurring her vision. She couldn’t help but think of a scene from “Chinese Paladin” where Li Xiaoyao comforted Zhao Linger – the same back mountain, the same dandelions, the same handsome male lead. Was he looking at these flying flowers with the same heart? Jie’er suddenly felt an urge to cry…

She patted the space beside her, signaling Lou Fan Yan to lie down too. He hesitated but eventually complied. Jie’er couldn’t see his face or expression, only hearing him ask, “Little girl, is it beautiful?”

Jie’er nodded silently, regardless of whether he could see her or not…

“I discovered this place by chance. I knew you would love it, so I specially brought you here before leaving. Look at these dandelions – they always go with the wind, can make a home anywhere. No matter how far they go, they’ll eventually fly back!” His low voice was as smooth as flowing spring water.

She realized he was trying to comfort her in this way. Jie’er’s heart was suddenly filled with emotion – this man could always easily bring tears to her eyes.

Jie’er was talking to Lou Shanyan, but her gaze kept inadvertently glancing at the blue-clad man, and for some reason, she felt his look towards her carried a hint of hostility.

Strange, they had clearly just met for the first time!

“What’s wrong, Yue’er? Are you feeling unwell?” Lou Shanyan, sitting beside her, noticed her furrowed brow and couldn’t help but ask with concern.

Jie’er unconsciously looked towards the blue-clad figure, who had now completely concealed any unfriendliness, his keen eyes now calm and placid.

She then shook her head, trying to dispel the strange feeling, and said casually, “I’m fine! It’s just that A’yan’s home is so big and beautiful, I got a bit dazed looking around, hehe… We’ve traveled so far, I’m so tired!”
