“Where else am I supposed to put it if you’re blocking the doorway?” Su Ben said irritably.
“Oh, sorry.” Realizing it was her fault, Xu Xianen quickly moved aside.
“Heh…” Xu Xianqi let out a light chuckle.
“Are you tired, Xianqi? Go to bed,” Su Ben showed a harmless smile.
“She won’t sleep until two in the morning,” Xu Xianen said with a mocking cold smile, dividing the food into two large portions.
“But I really need to sleep now.” Xu Xianqi yawned, closing the book she had just been reading.
“It’s only just past ten…” Xu Xianen was puzzled. Her sister had never acted this strangely before.
“Since the high school boy came this morning, I haven’t slept until now,” she yawned again lazily.
“What have you been doing if you haven’t slept?” Xu Xianen furrowed her brows, pushing a bag of food towards her sister. “Here, this is for you.”
“Aren’t you supposed to keep a close watch on him?” Xu Xianqi shook her head in distress, rubbing her eyes with her small hands. “I’ve been watching him so closely my eyes are sore.”
“Brother,” Xu Xianen sometimes wondered, where did all the reading her sister did go?
“Alright, I’m going to rest then, goodnight to both of you,” she bowed slightly, picked up the food from the table, and walked towards her room. “Xuxin, isn’t it too heavy? Do you need my help?” Chen Ben, who had been standing by, suddenly spoke out.
“She’s quite capable, not some weak woman,” Xu Xuen looked at him with an expression of impatience.
“But compared to you, she seems more like a frail woman without any strength,” Chen Ben said thoughtfully.
She furrowed her brows tightly, really wanting to give him a punch.
“Are you implying that I’m a man completely devoid of femininity?” she asked, smiling slyly at him.
“Not entirely devoid, just somewhat lacking,” he nodded seriously.
She leaned on his shoulder, her laughter growing clearer and sweeter. “Lacking? How much?”
He compared his thumb and index finger, showing a tiny gap. “Maybe this much, or even less.”
Xu Xuen’s smile grew sweeter, the dimples at the corners of her mouth becoming more pronounced. Just as Chen Ben was dazed by her smile, a hard punch landed on his stomach.
