“Having some knowledge isn’t bad, you know. Doraemon’s time machine has long been renamed Dora A Dream.” Xu Xian’en shrugged and patted Zhou Ben’s shoulder, “Silly, no one will laugh at you.”
Zhou Ben suddenly looked at her intensely, “Do you know? You’re becoming more and more like…”
“Becoming more and more like what?” she asked curiously, picking up on his words.
“Like a headstrong ox.” Zhou Ben felt rather pleased with his own remark, “As we spend more time together, our personalities start to resemble each other.”
“I refuse!” She almost jumped up, dragging him along, suddenly full of energy. “Quick! Let’s go see what that thing is!”
“Ha ha ha ha ha… don’t be shy!”
“Go away!”
They ran to the side of the strange machine, and upon closer inspection, they found a person lying unconscious on the ground, with a creature that looked like a bird hopping around incessantly beside them.
The bird stopped, its four large eyes staring at them, then resumed its activity, “Cluck—cluck—”
Xu Xian’en furrowed her brows and couldn’t help but cover her ears. “So noisy! Hey, stop calling out!”
Her shout made the bird with the speckled feathers pause again, looking at Xu Xian’en and Zhou Ben. It hopped over to Xu Xian’en and blinked its four large round eyes at her.
“Oh, I forgot to mention, it has two heads.”
“Ah, why are the creatures in this fantasy world so bizarre!”
Unable to stand it any longer, Xu Xian’en ran away, with the strange bird following her. They played a game of chase, while Zhou Ben stayed behind to check on the unconscious person.
Zhou Ben patted the tightly closed eyes of the man, who showed no response. Deciding to take him back to rest under the trees, Zhou Ben hoisted him onto his back.
“En En, stop playing, let’s go back.”
“I’m not playing! Tell that dumb bird to stop following me!” She ran back, panting, with the two-headed bird closely behind.
“Cluck—cluck—” It seemed to express its determination not to give up.
“Are you taking him back?” She noticed the person on Zhou Ben’s back for the first time. “Ah! Does he only have one hand?”
“Yes, how did you know?”
