Reborn as the Wind

Ru Feng responded confidently, “Mint refreshes the mind, rose calms the spirit. Of course, there are also scents that can improve mood. I’ll find them.”

“I hope you find them soon,” Xiao Su smiled.

After work, Ru Feng squeezed into the bakery, looking left and right.

The master baker shooed Ru Feng away, “Go, this is not a place you can enter.”

Dejected, she realized her status barred her from the masters’ workspace. She was anxious about her identity being discovered by her brothers and wanted to wait until the situation calmed down. She hadn’t anticipated that her second brother’s girlfriend would take the number she had sent out in anger.

Ru Feng’s worry increased when Qiu Chi reappeared.

“What do you want?” she snapped, irritated by his presence during her off-hours.

Qiu Chi approached her, his imposing height creating an overwhelming presence.

Ru Feng jumped back, watching him warily. “What are you going to do now?”

Coldly, he said, “What are you doing with Xiao Yi? Hmph! I’m not interested in you.”

Xiao Yi? Ru Feng was confused.

Qiu Chi grabbed her, warning, “If you dare do anything to Xiao Yi, I’ll make your life a living hell.”

“His father was a philanderer with many illegitimate children, but Xiao Yi was his only full-blooded sister, whom he always protected. He wouldn’t allow this woman to harass her.

Regardless of who Xiao Yi was, his tone and actions provoked Ru Feng. She grabbed his wrist and pushed him down.

Caught off guard, Qiu Chi fell to the ground, looking disheveled.

“You, you damned woman!” he exclaimed, furious that a woman had knocked him down. Although surprised, he felt humiliated.

Ru Feng clapped her hands. “I’m warning you. I’m not interested in you. If you provoke me again, you will suffer.”

“You’re not interested in me? Then why have you been chasing me all these years?” Qiu Chi retorted.

Ru Feng placed her hands on her hips. “I don’t like soft men who can be defeated by a single hand.” Ignoring his anger, she pointed and said, “I like someone like…”

The sentence trailed off as a man approached from the other end of the street, casually dressed in a light-colored sweater, with a faint smile.
