Reborn as the Wind

“Silly child, I’m your mother, I’m not tired.”

Ru Feng squatted in front of her, leaning her head on her knee. “Mom, this makes me sad; you don’t need to worry about money.” She paused, then looked up. “Mom, would you object if I dated Situ?”

In the future, she would often accompany her second brother and couldn’t always say she was working overtime.

Qiu’s mother was silent for a moment, then stroked her head and softly said, “As long as you’ve thought it through, Mom supports you.”

So mothers come in so many types! Compared to Ning Yuan, she was quite lucky.

That night, just after dinner and planning to call her second brother to pick her up, Qiu Chi arrived.

He rushed in without a word, pulling her outside.

“What’s wrong?” Ru Feng asked, noticing his urgency.

“A gift for you,” Qiu Chi said, looking tired but pleased.

The car stopped in front of a cake shop near Qiu’s company.

“What do you think of this cake shop’s name?” he asked at the entrance.

Ru Feng looked up. “A Wisp of Breeze! Not bad. Is it new?”

Qiu Chi smiled mysteriously and pulled her inside.

“Welcome!” someone said from behind the counter.

“Master Jiang?” Ru Feng exclaimed.

Master Jiang smiled, “Boss, this just opened ten minutes ago. We can officially start business tomorrow.”

The shop was decorated in a pastoral style, fresh and natural, with a tea area adorned with fresh flowers.

“Do you like it? This is my gift to you,” Qiu Chi whispered in her ear.

Seeing the tears in Ru Feng’s eyes, he felt all his hard work was worth it.

“Qiu Chi!” Ru Feng choked up, “Thank you, but…”

“No buts,” he interrupted, handing her a loan note. “All expenses are listed, with interest calculated quarterly. You can repay me slowly. There’s collateral – your status as Situ Qi Feng’s fiancée. If you can’t repay me, that status will be canceled.”

He smiled, “Can you accept this?”

Ru Feng looked at him, and after a long moment, smiled back. “Qiu Chi, you’re really a good man.”

Her expression became increasingly solemn.

Her second brother had taught her that the rise and fall of any stock must represent the involvement of a force behind it, especially for a company like Qiu’s that was developing normally. She wondered if there could be an influx of capital specifically aimed at suppressing Qiu’s stock.

Ru Feng was busy, while Qi Feng sat in his office, staring at the traffic below. She hadn’t received a call from Feng’er, and when she called home, her father confirmed that Feng’er hadn’t returned.

The space was filled with memories of her, which intensified his longing. Yet, he recognized her freedom. After her rebirth, she had a healthy body and a world of possibilities, no longer limited to him. She could laugh and run freely, going wherever she wanted.

He felt a mix of happiness and loss. Feng’er had always yearned for an independent life, but he wondered if she would gradually drift further away from him. He closed his eyes, a satisfied smile on his face, realizing that as long as she was happy, that was enough.

A long time later, Ru Feng took out his phone. The screen was dark, and with a press of his finger, the time appeared – it was already ten o’clock, time to go home.

Ru Feng looked at the changing curves on the computer, somewhat disbelieving, then reached out to turn off the power.

“What’s wrong?” Li Qin, having received the message, quickly ran over.

“Where is Qiu Chi?” Ru Feng asked, forcing a smile.

Li Qin gave Wang Yu a look, then responded, “President Qiu is in the office. Miss Qiu, please come with me.”

“What’s the matter?” Qiu Chi raised his head from a pile of documents, slightly stunned by Ru Feng’s expression.

“Qiu Chi, how about we make a deal?” Ru Feng sat on the sofa in front of him and took out the cake shop’s IOU.

“Hmm?” He looked at her knowingly, rubbing his forehead. “Go ahead.”

“I’ll help you solve this crisis. That cake shop can be my compensation.”

Qiu Chi’s gaze became scrutinizing as he looked at Ru Feng.

“This deal, you’ve earned,” she said with a slight smile.

After a brief silence, Qiu Chi replied, “Yes, I’ve earned a lot. Aren’t you at a loss?”

“No, I’m not,” she laughed lightly. “Because I don’t owe you anymore.”

She had always disliked owing others, especially favors – a debt that might never be fully repaid.

Moreover, Qiu Chi had feelings for her.

At this moment, she had neither the heart nor the strength to bear such emotions.

Qiu Chi leaned back in his chair, staring at her. “Is Si Tu Qi Feng that good?”

Ru Feng met his gaze. “Yes, the best.”

His smile faded, turning cold. He pulled the IOU from her hand, looking at her. “Deal!”

Ru Feng took out her phone, sending a text message. “Everything will return to normal in half an hour,” she said.

Qiu Chi remained silent, leaning in his chair. Ru Feng smiled, stood up, and left.

Watching her go, Qiu Chi took out his phone—an exact match to Ru Feng’s.

“President Qiu!” Li Qin entered, looking troubled.

Qiu Chi, lost in thought, replied, “Hmm!”

“We couldn’t find anything,” Li Qin said, surprised. “Wang Yu was connected to her computer, but she was too fast. We just knew she was analyzing data flow and capital flow of securities companies. Before reaching a conclusion, she cut off the network tracking.”

“Let’s wait half an hour and see if the results are as she said,” Qiu Chi replied.

“Is this Qiu Ru Feng really not a problem?” Li Qin asked.

Of course, there was a big problem. Qiu Chi looked up. “What do you think about ten years of infatuation compared to a night of passion?”

Li Qin was stunned.

Qiu Chi played with his pen, stating, “I don’t believe one night of intimacy would make Qiu Ru Feng devoted to Si Tu Qi Feng.”

Li Qin was taken aback. “President Qiu, so today you…”

Qiu Chi continued, “Si Tu Qi Feng is cold-faced and emotionless. How would he know anything about gentleness?” His expression was difficult to read. “With women, I only discard them.”

Ru Feng waited in the lobby for someone.

“Feng’er!” Qi Feng spotted her on the sofa and approached quickly.

“Second Brother,” Ru Feng smiled, standing up.

Qi Feng draped his coat over her. “Put it on.”

After leaving, Ru Feng asked, “Second Brother, are you angry?”

She had texted him to back off from opposing Qiu. She learned how to trace back to him during her bedridden days when he entertained her with a computer.

The stock market fluctuations were just games he played to keep her occupied.

“I don’t like that kid Qiu Chi; he hit you,” Qi Feng said, emphasizing his concern.

Ru Feng laughed, hooking her arm around her second brother and leaning on him. “This second brother of mine is so cute.”

Hearing her laughter, Qi Feng smiled, deciding to let Qiu Chi off the hook.

“Second brother, aren’t we going home?” Sitting in the car, Ru Feng noticed they weren’t going home but heading towards Qiu Ru Feng’s house.

“Hmm!” Qi Feng’s handsome profile was visible in the dim light.

“Why? She’s not here; how can you sleep?”

Qi Feng smiled softly, “If we don’t go home, Qiu Ru Feng’s mother will start to suspect something. You can’t keep saying you’re working late every night!” He ruffled Ru Feng’s hair at a red light. “I don’t want to make things difficult for you. Don’t worry; I’m much better now and rarely have nightmares. I can sleep.”

He wanted Ru Feng’s companionship, wishing for them to be together always, but he didn’t want to constrain her happiness.

“Second brother!” Ru Feng suddenly hugged his neck.

Startled, Qi Feng braked the car. “What are you doing? This is dangerous.”

“Second brother, second brother!” Ru Feng called out to him, overwhelmed with happiness.

There would never be a better brother in the world!

“Second brother, I feel so happy,” she whispered.

Qi Feng patted her head, “Silly girl! Sit properly, I’m driving.”
