Reborn as the Wind

“Elder Brother?” Qi Feng called, a hint of fragility in his voice. His heart raced. Could it be her?

For Situ Qi Feng, everything in the world was fleeting, except for Ru Feng, which made him appear calm and unperturbed in public—not because he was composed, but because he didn’t care.

Their elder brother looked slightly pale from running and handed his phone to Qi Feng. “Check who this number belongs to.”

Situ Qi Feng glanced at the text and was stunned. “It’s her, right?”

They exchanged a look, sharing the same suspicion.

“If I find this little brat, I’ll definitely spank her bottom!” the elder brother gritted his teeth.

Situ Qi Feng’s eyes reddened. No, if he found her, he wouldn’t hit her. He wanted her to stay with him forever, never to leave again.

Wind, do you know how much I’ve missed you? Will you come back, cherishing as before?

Autumn Meaning, the woman who had previously stood with Situ Qi Feng, walked out and noticed the strange expressions on the two brothers’ faces, sensing something was amiss.

The only person who could change the moods of the usually smiling Situ Yingfeng and the expressionless Situ Qifeng was their missing sister.

She approached Yingfeng with concern, “General Manager, are you okay?”

Situ Yingfeng shook his head without responding.

Situ Qifeng noticed the necklace on Autumn Meaning’s neck, and his sadness faded somewhat. He turned to his brother, “Can I take this necklace home?”

This style would have been Wind’s favorite. She had argued for her brother to make it, but delays had occurred. Today was the official release, and after seeing it on TV, he rushed to bring Autumn Meaning and the necklace back.

Situ Yingfeng understood his brother’s urgency, “I know my sister likes it. I’ve set aside a set for her.”

Situ Qifeng shook his head, “No, I want this one. It’s the sample you personally polished, right? She likes handmade items.”

Autumn Meaning covered her neck and stepped back. Since it was made by Situ Yingfeng, she cherished it and wore it to prevent Situ Qifeng from claiming it.

When they had just gotten out of the car, he had even opened the door for her.

Situ Yingfeng looked at her and then at Qifeng, waving his hand. “Autumn Assistant, give it to Qifeng.”

Qifeng smiled, already knowing the outcome. How could another woman compete with his sister?

Autumn Meaning’s eyes reddened slightly. “General Manager, I like it too.”

Situ Yingfeng nodded. “I know. As the model for this Cherished series, I’ll have them send you a set.”

Ignoring her reaction, he looked at a text message on his phone, narrowing his eyes. Besides his little girl, no one else would use this tone with him.

Situ Qifeng memorized the number at a glance. After taking the necklace from Autumn Meaning, he walked away satisfied.

Autumn Meaning followed Situ Yingfeng back to the office. Though he was indifferent to her now, she believed she would eventually win him over.

Biting her lip, she watched Situ Yingfeng walk ahead. He suddenly felt a chill, turned back, and saw her pouting expression, reminiscent of his sister’s angry look, which made him laugh. “Autumn Assistant, if you really like it, you can ask the marketing department for two sets.” He smiled slightly as he entered the exclusive elevator. “See you in the office.” He closed the elevator door.

Autumn Meaning stomped her foot. She wasn’t trying to get an extra set, you insensitive man!

When a woman is in a bad mood, she needs to replenish her energy.

Autumn Meaning left work and wandered into a cake shop, seeking a mood boost.

As soon as she entered, Ru Feng recognized her and scurried over. “Sister, can I help you with anything?”

Autumn Meaning smiled warmly at the passionate shop assistant. “I want to buy a cake, but I haven’t decided on the flavor!” The glass case was filled with colorful cakes, each looking delicious, leaving her perplexed.

Ru Feng crouched down and suggested, “Try this tiramisu. Or this Black Forest cake; it has a strong alcohol taste at first but becomes particularly delicious after a few bites…”

“Okay, this one!” Autumn Meaning interrupted her.

The cake was quickly served. Sitting at the bar, she took a bite and tears welled up. She sniffled, took another bite, and continued eating while crying.

“Miss, isn’t it good?” Ru Feng asked cautiously.

“No, it’s delicious,” Autumn Meaning replied, still choking on her tears.

Ru Feng retreated to the counter and whispered to the shop owner, “Sister Su, can our cakes make people cry?”

Sister Su patted her head, “A good cake has emotions, just like people. You’ll learn slowly.”

Ru Feng felt conflicted watching her future sister-in-law cry while eating. Did her second brother make her sad? They seemed fine earlier.

“Little sister,” Autumn Meaning asked, “do you have any cakes that make people feel happy as soon as they eat them?”

Ru Feng was stunned. Sister Su intervened, “Miss, why not try our new berry fruit cake?”

Autumn Meaning shook her head, sighing, “How could there be such a magical cake? I’m just being silly from anger at that man.” She laughed self-deprecatingly, “What a despicable man! Always turning a blind eye to her feelings, maintaining only the minimum politeness.”

Ru Feng wanted to defend her brother but held back.

Seeing Autumn Meaning about to leave, Ru Feng anxiously grabbed her, “Sister, can you come back the day after tomorrow? I’ll recommend a cake that will definitely improve your mood.”

Autumn Meaning turned back, stifling the urge to pinch her rosy cheeks, “Okay, thank you. I’ll come back the day after tomorrow.”

“Okay, I’ll wait for you.”

Ru Feng hurriedly agreed to help keep the woman her brother had finally accepted by his side.

Qiu Yi took a few steps, then turned back, “By the way, could you leave me your phone number? In case something happens and I can’t make it, I can call you.”

Ru Feng quickly shook her head, “I…”

“Oh, no need.” Xiao Su interjected, holding up a piece of paper. “Here, Ru Feng’s phone number, which she left with me yesterday.”

“No, I’m about to change my number,” Ru Feng tried to stop her, but the paper was already in Qiu Yi’s hand.

Qiu Yi smiled at Ru Feng, her low mood lifting slightly. Youth had such vivid and lively expressions.

“It’s fine. You can tell me your new number when you change it.” She took the paper and left.

Ru Feng was left feeling petrified, reassuring herself that Qiu Yi wouldn’t discuss something as trivial as a text message or phone number with her brother.

After the guests had left, Xiao Su asked curiously, “Ru Feng, what cake would make someone feel better?”

Ru Feng responded confidently, “Mint refreshes the mind, rose calms the spirit. Of course, there are also scents that can improve mood. I’ll find them.”

“I hope you find them soon,” Xiao Su smiled.

After work, Ru Feng squeezed into the bakery, looking left and right.

The master baker shooed Ru Feng away, “Go, this is not a place you can enter.”

Dejected, she realized her status barred her from the masters’ workspace. She was anxious about her identity being discovered by her brothers and wanted to wait until the situation calmed down. She hadn’t anticipated that her second brother’s girlfriend would take the number she had sent out in anger.

Ru Feng’s worry increased when Qiu Chi reappeared.

“What do you want?” she snapped, irritated by his presence during her off-hours.

Qiu Chi approached her, his imposing height creating an overwhelming presence.

Ru Feng jumped back, watching him warily. “What are you going to do now?”

Coldly, he said, “What are you doing with Xiao Yi? Hmph! I’m not interested in you.”

Xiao Yi? Ru Feng was confused.

Qiu Chi grabbed her, warning, “If you dare do anything to Xiao Yi, I’ll make your life a living hell.”
