Reborn as the Wind

They were at a stalemate, and of course, the first to give in would not be Rufeng.

Qifeng sighed and squatted down, lowering his voice. “Then I’ll carry you. You won’t get carsick if I carry you.”

Rufeng was speechless. “But second brother, you’re too thin. Your back is too bony.”

Qifeng gritted his teeth and glared at her. “Situ Rufeng!”

Rufeng quickly climbed onto his back. “Second brother, carry me home.”

After a while, Qifeng asked, “Fenger, your leg is better, right?”

“Completely fine, I can even run.”

“What about your right hand?”

“My right hand is fine too; I can write as well as before.”

Qifeng hummed. “That’s good!”

The corner of his mouth slowly curved up.

“Of course! Who wants to be disabled?” Qifeng asked. “Fenger, can you be a beautiful bride now?”

No response.

Qifeng stopped, “Fenger?” A steady breathing sound came from his back—she had fallen asleep.

Qifeng gritted his teeth. “Just talking, and now you’re asleep? Is there anyone who falls asleep so quickly? Fenger, do you think I’m stupid?”

Rufeng’s cheeks were bright red as she lay on Qifeng’s back, silent. Did she still have a knot in her heart?

Qi Feng, sensitive to her feelings, sensed her unease despite their confirmed relationship. For example, she was hesitant about wearing her wedding dress.

Ru Feng harbored a secret even her second brother couldn’t share. Recently, seeing her brother’s increasing silence, she knew the reason but dared not touch upon it.

“Miss, although this is the lowest alcohol content drink, it is still alcohol, not juice,” Ying Feng advised earnestly. He had just wrapped up a business meeting and was surprised to find Ru Feng alone in a bar.

Although it was a clean bar with a good atmosphere, he never expected to see Ru Feng there. He touched her forehead. “Ru Feng, are you okay?”

“I’m fine.”

“You’re fine and still want to drink?”

“Ying Feng clearly didn’t believe her.

Ru Feng raised her glass and clinked it with his, saying, “Big brother, isn’t the color of this drink beautiful?”

Ying Feng looked at her intently, “Ru Feng, do you have something on your mind?”

Ru Feng lowered her gaze and silently sipped her drink.

Ying Feng stroked her hair and asked, “You already know about Sui Feng’s background, right?”

Ru Feng nodded after a moment.

Ying Feng continued, “You always seem like a good girl, but you’re more stubborn than anyone. When you don’t want to talk, no one can get anything out of you. Silly girl!” He patted her face, his eyes showing both love and concern. “Keeping everything bottled up will only hurt you.”

Ru Feng’s eyes were moistened. She leaned against his shoulder, saying, “Big brother, can you not ask anything?”

“Okay, I won’t ask.”

“No matter what I say, don’t ask and don’t tell Dad or second brother.”

“Okay.”

“Big brother, I want to drink.”

“Alright, but if you drink too much, I’ll take you home.”

Ru Feng buried her head in his embrace, “Thank you, big brother. I feel so happy. Having you, Dad, second brother, and now Mom Qiu makes me very happy.”

“Meeting Ning Yuan and Qi Wu is also my happiness.”

Ru Feng mused, “My happiness is so full, will it attract jealousy someday?”

Ying Feng lowered his head, “Ru Feng, do you have pre-wedding anxiety?”

Ru Feng shook her head, “Big brother, you promised not to ask.”

Ying Feng sighed and adjusted his position to make his sister more comfortable.

Ru Feng said nothing more, just drank fruit wine glass after glass. When Ying Feng thought she would silently drink herself drunk, she spoke, somewhat blurry but clear enough for him to hear.

“Big brother, I feel sorry for second brother. I don’t want to see him suffer. But I can’t make him suffer for second brother.”

Ying Feng was confused by her words. “If he asks me how I could be so heartless, how would I answer?”

After a while, she looked at him and asked, “Big brother, why are there two of you?”

Ying Feng snatched the glass from her hand, “Okay, you’ve drunk and spoken, let’s go home.” He placed money on the table and picked her up in his arms.

“Big brother is so good!” she mumbled.

Ying Feng held her tighter, full of love. He had already lost one, and the one in his arms was his only sister.

“Big brother?” she called softly.

“Yes!”

“Can we go to the company to find second brother?”

Ying Feng looked at the time, “Let’s go home first. It’s almost off work time. We’ll call him to come back and keep you company?”

“No,” she frowned, “I want to find second brother right now.”

Ying Feng sat in the car with Ru Feng when she said, “Uncle Chen, please go to the company.”

Surprised, Ying Feng asked, “Ru Feng, aren’t you drunk?”

“I’m not drunk, not at all! I can drink more!” Ru Feng barely opened her eyes.

Ying Feng sighed, feeling a chill at the thought of how angry Qi Feng would be when she saw Ru Feng like this. It would only frustrate her brother.

When Qi Feng found Ru Feng lying on the sofa laughing, her eyes shot icy glares toward Ying Feng, who was trying to sneak out.

“Big brother, can you explain?”

Ying Feng smiled bitterly, “Qi Feng, I didn’t take her there.” Though he usually had authority, he felt powerless regarding Ru Feng.

“You watched her drink like this?” Qi Feng’s anger was palpable.

With sweat on his forehead, Ying Feng said, “I tried to stop her.” The room’s atmosphere turned sharp, making him regret not sending Ru Feng home directly.

“So noisy!” Ru Feng mumbled, struggling to sit up, wobbling toward the floor. Qi Feng swiftly turned to steady her, allowing Ying Feng to slip out the door.

After the door closed, Yingfeng patted his chest, “Feng’er, it wasn’t for nothing that I doted on you. Even drunk, you knew to save your big brother from trouble.”

Wiping the sweat from his forehead, Yingfeng decided to go home alone first.

Rufeng, feeling the alcohol stirring in her stomach, tugged at her collar and smacked her lips, “Want to throw up, feel awful!”

Qifeng stared at her expressionlessly. The woman was so drunk she didn’t even know her own name; how could she be afraid of him?

Perhaps the oppressive gaze was too intense. Rufeng opened her eyes, blinked, and reached out to touch Qifeng’s face. He slapped her hand away, but she persistently raised it again and caressed him, giggling.

“Second Brother, hehe, you’re Second Brother…”

She nuzzled her head into his chest, pouting, “Second Brother always bullies me, even hitting me!”

Hit her? Qifeng almost choked, then coldly glared at her.

Rufeng didn’t care, her reddened eyes seemingly full of grievances, “Second Brother, are you angry with me?”

Qifeng’s brow twitched; he disdained talking to a drunk who was out of her mind.

With the courage of alcohol, Rufeng blurted out, “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to.”

“Sorry for what?” Hearing something off in her words, Qifeng finally spoke.

Rufeng stared at him, “I’m sorry, I care about you, but I also care about him.”

“Who is this ‘him’?” Sour bubbles rose in his heart.

Rufeng smiled sweetly, “I don’t know either! Second Brother must know, right?” She pulled him close.

Caught off guard, Qifeng found their noses almost touching.

Her delicate face was captivating; he awkwardly swallowed.

Rufeng waved her hand, “Second Brother, I want water.”

Half of Qifeng’s face darkened, but Rufeng ignored him, insisting he go get it.

After laying her down on the sofa, Qifeng went to get water.

He shoved a cup to her mouth, but she still felt dry. Seeing her furrowed brow, he asked, “Still uncomfortable? Should I buy some hangover medicine?”

Watching his lips, Rufeng reached out and grabbed his face.

Qifeng quickly wrapped his arms around her to prevent her from falling.

Her eyes shimmering, she leaned up and kissed him, finding his lips cool and smooth.

Qifeng’s eyes widened as her hand slid under his clothes.
