After their discussion, Dean looked at the time, it was almost eleven, and he signaled to Ximen Xu and Jones to go rest. Halfway down, Ximen Xu turned back, just as Dean was shutting down his computer to leave the study — “Your woman is asleep with your brother!” Ximen Xu blinked and said. Dean raised an eyebrow, no longer bothered about Baron’s issue. Shaking his head helplessly, he stepped out to find Ye Ye lying flat on the floor, mouth slightly pouting, her pale face with a hint of gauze under her bangs, like a wounded angel resting without any defense… Baron was curled up next to her armpit… Both human and dog looked so innocent and harmonious… It made anyone who saw them want to feel pity and love… Dean’s lake-blue eyes softened, his noble face filled with a faint smile… He bent down and gently lifted Ye Ye… In her sleep, Ye Ye snuggled into the familiar embrace, murmured contentedly, pouted, and fell back into a deep sleep… “Ho, how does it feel like you’ve got a daughter to take care of?” Ximen Xu leaned against the side, teasing. Dean shot him a glance and whispered, “If you’re so free, take this dog downstairs for me!” Ximen Xu pouted and turned to leave, thinking to himself, ‘I’d rather drive to a nightclub to pick up women than carry a dog!’
The next day, when Ye Ye woke up, Dean had already left. Holding Baron, she sat bored in the grand hall downstairs, where the vast villa was filled with only the housekeeper, servants, bodyguards, and doctors. As she was contemplating, the doctors and nurses started their routine of cleaning, injecting, and changing her bandages… It was torture… Although her injuries were severe and not fully healed, since they weren’t life-threatening, Ye Ye’s mobility was almost unrestricted as long as she didn’t engage in vigorous activity… Where to go for a walk? Ye Ye bit her upper lip, her eyes rolling around… Moments later, Ye Ye got dressed, and with Baron, they looked ready to go out, but then the butler, Zeta, appeared out of nowhere: “Miss, the master said you’re not allowed to go out!”
“Why can’t I go out?” Ye Ye asked curiously, “I’m bored!”
