“For revenge, for gaining control of the enterprise, are you willing to give up more important things in life?” Andolie felt a sense of despair and spoke from her heart: “A genuine relationship, a person who can accompany you for life, aren’t these more important than Haneno Group’s management rights?”
Haneno Zenji narrowed his eyes, coldly saying: “What do you mean by that? Are you threatening me?”
“How could you think I’m threatening you?” Andolie said calmly.
“Your meaning is very clear. Plainly speaking, if I truly marry Nakaya Yuka, you will leave me, right?” A sharp light burst from his cold eyes.
Andolie turned her head away, not wanting him to see her heartbreak, “Even if that’s true, isn’t that understandable? I don’t want to get involved in someone else’s story.”
“But you are already involved.” Haneno Zenji walked out from behind the desk, standing in front of her: “I will take you back to Japan with me.”
“Go back to Japan for what? Do you want me to watch your wedding ceremony with my own eyes?” Andolie was heartbroken.
“I said, I will quickly divorce her without hesitation. Our marriage will not last long.” Haneno Zenji embraced her shoulders, speaking softly.
But Andolie was only heartbroken. His gentle words could no longer comfort her broken heart. She gently pushed away his chest, decisively saying: “Enough, everything is over.”
The word “over” wounded Haneno Zenji’s heart.
He said domineeringly: “I do not allow you to leave me, do you understand?”
“This is unfair, Zenji. To make a woman who deeply loves you endure all this is a cruel thing.”
Her confession stunned Haneno Zenji, leaving him unable to respond for a long time.
“Do you love me?” Andolie asked almost desperately.
She loved him so much. She had chased him across half the globe, hoping to be with him forever, never expecting she still could not change this outcome.
And Haneno Zenji’s silence hurt Andolie even more deeply.
“Andolie, I will return to Japan tomorrow, probably for a week. Wait for me at home, and we’ll discuss these issues when I return, okay?”
Andolie’s eyes filled with tears, “Look, you’re trying to avoid me again.”
“I’m not avoiding you, I—”
