Yue Xiye watched Yu Yelan’s small, thin figure turn onto another street, her shoulders slim and her steps listless. He shook his head, deciding he definitely needed a good sleep.
Yu Yelan noticed the boy continuing to walk and immediately turned to follow him stealthily. Five minutes later, Yue Xiye could no longer tolerate the girl’s clumsy stalking and stopped again. Yu Yelan couldn’t stop in time and crashed into Yue Xiye’s embrace, her nose hitting his chest. “Umm—” Yu Yelan let out a muffled grunt, covering her nose and stepping back, looking at Yue Xiye with an accusatory gaze.
The colorful neon lights shone on Yue Xiye’s face. For the first time, Yu Yelan saw Yue Xiye clearly. Besides his tall, slender build, he had a face that could easily make people lose themselves. His black short hair was messy, slightly covering his forehead. His eyebrows were bold and thick, and his eyes were a clear, absolute blue like the sky. His nose was straight, and his thin lips were slightly pursed. If not for his overly hard expression, he would be more perfect than magazine models.
“Sorry…” Yu Yelan quickly withdrew her gaze from Yue Xiye’s handsome face, her heart still racing.
“I can’t explain it to you,” Yue Xiye took a deep breath to suppress his anger. “Don’t follow me anymore.”
“I… I…” Yu Yelan stammered, not knowing how to explain. Her hand secretly climbed onto Yue Xiye’s clothes, gripping them tightly.
Like an intuitive connection between people, her subconscious told her this boy could be relied upon. Without further thought, Yu Yelan involuntarily followed Yue Xiye.
“Don’t follow me!” Yue Xiyi looked at the hand grabbing his clothes, but this reprimand did not get the desired result. He pulled away Yu Yelan’s hand and pushed her casually. Yu Yelan’s body went soft, and the intertwined light before her eyes faded, plunging her into pure blackness.
Yu Yelan woke up at noon the next day.
Brilliant sunlight poured into the room. Yu Yelan revealed a smile in her sleep. This feeling was so good – no scolding, no homeless people, no hunger. Her world was warm and comfortable; this must be paradise?
