Veiled Heartbreak

Father Fu put down his newspaper: “Good, have your assistant send her abroad soon, don’t let the Lin family find out about you being an illegitimate child.”

Fu Yumo stiffened, suddenly recalling when Jiang Nuan asked him about pregnancy.

So that was it!

Fu Yumo’s voice was icy: “I understand.”

The next day, Jiang Nuan left her apartment to visit Lin Chao at the hospital.

But just as she stepped out of her community, she was taken by several men in black to a private clinic.

In her panic, she actually saw Fu Yumo.

Before she could understand, Fu Yumo’s cold laughter came, “Do you think having a child will bind me to you for life?”

Jiang Nuan’s heart trembled, overwhelmed by a strong sense of unease.

“I just…” she tried to explain, but didn’t know where to start.

A nurse approached: “Mr. Fu, the abortion procedure is ready.”

Jiang Nuan shivered, grabbing Fu Yumo’s arm, “Fu Yumo, please don’t!”

She couldn’t care about anything else, pulling at Fu Yumo’s sleeve in a panic, “Please, this is your child, I’ll take him far away, I won’t disturb your marriage…”

Before she could finish, Fu Yumo gripped Jiang Nuan’s chin, “Look at you, willing to throw away your dignity for ten million, it’s disgusting!”

He flung her hand away in disgust, “If the child could choose, knowing you as the mother, it would rather not be born.”

Jiang Nuan collapsed to her knees!

Wouldn’t the child want her as a mother?

This sentence struck her like lightning!

At that moment, the nurse brought over the consent form: “Miss Jiang, please sign here.”

Jiang Nuan looked at Fu Yumo.

That cold, loathing gaze seemed to turn into the child’s own in that instant.

It hurt so much that Jiang Nuan couldn’t breathe.

Seeing Jiang Nuan still not moving, the secretary beside her grabbed her hand and forcibly signed the consent form.

Watching the woman being dragged into the operating room.

For some reason, Fu Yumo suddenly felt extremely irritable.

It was all because of that woman, who was just too good at acting…

On the operating table.

The overhead surgical light was blindingly bright, Jiang Nuan kept her eyes open, staring.

The anesthesia seemed to have taken effect, or maybe not.
