“You’re awake,” Yue Linze smiled, a smile Tao Yu found more difficult to bear than crying. As she moved her mouth, she saw him grab her hand and press his forehead against her palm, calmly saying, “Your heart is so cruel.”
Tao Yu felt warm liquid fall on her palm, momentarily stunned and her emotions becoming complex.
Yue Linze slightly tilted his head, looking as if nothing had happened, his gaze full of devotion: “I won’t try to tame you anymore because I’ve accepted being tamed myself.”
“…”
“I love you, Tao Yu. I am yours.”
Tao Yu stared at him, silently screaming in her mind, “Why didn’t I die? Why am I still here?!
During this time, Tao Yu learned from the doctor that she had been in a coma for several months and her legs were paralyzed. She didn’t feel much after hearing this, just that her mobility was somewhat inconvenient.
However, every cloud has a silver lining. Yue Linze had become more restrained because of this car accident. He no longer pursued her escape or tied her up. Although the task seemed far from completion, she was content not being treated like a prisoner.
After staying in the hospital for a while, they returned home. But after only a few days, Yue Linze took her to another scenic location.
Their new home was a villa on a mountaintop, surrounded by tall trees and grasslands, with a clear lake not far from the house. It was suitable for recuperation and rarely visited, meeting both of their needs.
There were no servants in the villa, so Yue Linze had to do everything himself, from laundry and cooking to cleaning, and spending time with Tao Yu. His schedule was packed, while Tao Yu, being paralyzed, comfortably did nothing.
But this was exactly what Yue Linze wanted; he thoroughly enjoyed taking care of Tao Yu.
When they first moved, Yue Linze would often wake up from dreams, only able to continue sleeping after seeing Tao Yu alive beside him. He initially suspected she was pretending to be unbothered by her paralysis to prevent his suffering. However, he gradually realized she truly didn’t mind, as long as she ate well, drank well, and could occasionally go out and play.
Reassured by this, Yue Linze became even more attentive in his care.
