After a moment, he thought maybe the pay was indeed low. The butler coughed: “Even if it’s low, you can’t betray so quickly. Sir, Miss Tao is young and might be deceived by bad people. Let me call her back.”
“No need,” Yue Linze said flatly.
The butler looked at him hesitantly, and seeing no reaction, he fell silent. It seemed Tao Yu and Yue Linying would likely reach a cooperation. Since the master wasn’t stopping it, he presumably hadn’t changed his mind about dismissing Tao Yu.
“I believe this statement, but what if one day Linze offers you a higher price? Would you switch sides again?” Although he was the one pursuing her cooperation, Yue Linying felt uncertain after she agreed so easily.
Tao Yu chuckled lightly: “Do you think Yue Linze would spend so much money on a traitor?”
Of course not. If she were discovered, Yue Linze would only make her pay ten times the price. Yue Linying, who understood Yue Linze’s character well, finally felt relieved after hearing Tao Yu’s words.
He smiled friendly: “Fifteen million for an informant is quite expensive, but I appreciate Miss Tao’s personality. Spending this money for a chance to collaborate with Miss Tao is worth it.”
As he spoke, he extended his right hand. Tao Yu stared at his hand for a while, then smiled: “Although Yue Linze doesn’t often return to the old mansion, this is still his home. He probably has many informants here. We should be careful.”
Yue Linying immediately withdrew his hand: “Miss Tao is right.”
Just as he finished speaking, a servant brought out a box of aged tea from the warehouse. Tao Yu nodded at Yue Linying and quickly said: “I’ll send you the bank account when I get back.”
Yue Linying acknowledged silently. They exchanged a glance and turned to leave.
Tao Yu walked forward with a smile, looking dignified. Once she turned the corner, she suddenly took several deep breaths and strode towards the bedroom.
Yue Linze coldly turned off the listening device. The butler looked troubled: “Sir, what should we do next?” Whether to immediately dismiss her or keep her for further investigation was a decision that had to be made by the master.
