Yandere Begs for a Break – Part Three

Tao Yu blinked, only then realizing they were now sharing a bed. She responded, and Yue Linze got up. After some footsteps, the room lit up. He prepared water by candlelight and, after it cooled, brought it to her.

Tao Yu thanked him, drank a few sips, and then returned the cup. Yue Linze placed it back on the table, extinguished the candle, and carefully lay back on the bed.

He just lay down, and Tao Yu immediately hugged his arm. Yue Linze stiffened for a moment before quickly adjusting, reaching out to grasp her warm little hand.

“I sleep more comfortably by your side,” Tao Yu whispered.

Yue Linze’s mouth curved slightly, then quickly returned to its usual calm. The two intertwined their fingers in the darkness, neither speaking, yet both acutely aware that the other was not asleep.

As Tao Yu began to grow drowsy, Yue Linze softly said, “I will treat you well, I will make it up to you.”

“…Mm,” Tao Yu responded, then fell into a sweet, dark dream.

After sharing a night’s sleep, it seemed that the previous conflicts were melted away by the rising sun the next day, and they no longer mentioned past events, living together as if there were no barriers.

Because Yue Linze no longer saw death as his goal, the city lord was not in a hurry to hand over the position to Nian Nian, who no longer had to run to the government office to study and read, and began carefree days again.

Life was smooth and peaceful, making the days seem to pass faster, and before they knew it, it was midsummer, and Tao Yu had been in this spiritual world for several months.

One evening, she sat in the pavilion, staring blankly at the pool of lotus flowers, calculating the time to return. From the moment she arrived in this world, she had not been eager to treat the alternate personality, because she knew clearly that this was the last world.

Once she left here, she would never have any connection with the three words ‘Yue Linze’ again.

She was reluctant.

Anyway, no matter how long she stayed in the spiritual world, no more than three hours would pass in the real world. So why not stay here a bit longer?
