Yandere Begs for a Break – Part Three

Tao Yu’s shoulders were gripped painfully, and just as she was about to furrow her brow, Yue Linze loosened his grip. She patiently said: “I’m neither a god nor a demon. Those worlds weren’t destroyed by me. Falling in love with me won’t make this place disappear.”

“I told you, I won’t believe you,” Yue Linze said coldly.

Tao Yu looked at him for a long time and smiled helplessly: “The most powerful evidence is that you’ve already fallen for me, yet this place hasn’t disappeared, has it?”

Yue Linze was stunned, about to deny it, when Tao Yu softly asked: “When did you first see me?”

“Fifteen,” Yue Linze answered in a daze.

Tao Yu patiently guided: “At fifteen, you started to be jealous of other men like yourself, right? Linze, only love breeds jealousy. This means you already liked me then. You’ve refused to marry or become a monk all these years, just waiting for me. Don’t you understand? You like me, and this place hasn’t disappeared. What does that prove? It proves that liking me won’t make this place disappear, right?”

Now she was certain that Yue Linze’s greatest resentment was towards her and Wuhuan City. He wanted to keep Wuhuan City and keep her, but in his eyes, she and Wuhuan City were never compatible, and this would only lead to growing frustration.

Yue Linze stared at her blankly, and after a long time, spoke with a hint of helplessness: “…Liking you won’t make Wuhuan City disappear?”

“Yes, it won’t,” Tao Yu said firmly.

Yue Linze fell silent again. Tao Yu saw his reaction and felt a glimmer of hope, praying that she could break this deadlock.

Yue Linze remained silent for a long time, and when he spoke again, his tone was unusually gentle: “If you hadn’t discovered all this, I was planning to adopt a child a few months later. If you like boys, we’d adopt a boy; if you like girls, we’d adopt a girl.”

Tao Yu was taken aback, not understanding why he was bringing this up now.

Yue Linze chuckled softly: “We’d raise her together. Even if she’s not our biological child, I believe she’d be filial to us. She would love this city, its people, its scenery, just like me. Once you’ve been here long enough, you’ll understand how wonderful this place is and give up on destroying it.”

“Linze…” Tao Yu felt a bad premonition rising.

Yue Linze sighed: “Sadly, the plan failed. And you still haven’t given up your idea. I’m too stupid to have made you love this place or me until now. Until this moment, you’re still trying to seduce me.”

“Linze…” Tao Yu furrowed her brow. Her forehead suddenly felt cold, and she was instantly terrified, unable to finish her sentence.

Yue Linze held a gun to her head, pain showing in his eyes: “I overestimated myself and underestimated you. For Wuhuan City, I can’t let you live.”

…Big bro, let’s talk nicely, I’m innocent! Damn, although I won’t die, being shot will still hurt! Tao Yu’s mind was flooded with ‘damn’, but she tried to maintain her composure: “Linze, listen to me, I really don’t mean to destroy you, I’m just explaining that liking me won’t…”

“If you’re truly a god who can control the life and death of mortals, you shouldn’t die from a bullet,” Yue Linze’s hand was trembling, but his voice remained steady, “If I can’t kill you, then you should show no mercy and kill me, send me to hell for eternal damnation, as punishment for my actions against you.

Linze! Calm down! Let’s talk properly.” With a gun pointed at her head, Tao Yu remained completely unfazed.

“If you’re going to die… if you’re going to die, then wait until the next life, next life to take revenge, you must come, come find me.” A tear fell from Yue Linze’s eye.

“Linze!”

Bang!

Author’s Note: Xiaotao: This alternate personality is hard to deal with, he’s difficult because he refuses to admit it.

The city lord gave Xiaotao a shot, and will repay it tenfold next time. After the confrontation, a different kind of sweet story will begin (PS I thought no one would guess the headshot plot, but unexpectedly Moran guessed it, I seriously suspect you’ve installed a monitor on Facai’s body while helping me write!)

★ City Lord is Sick 11

The bullet pierced through Tao Yu’s forehead, shooting out from the back of her head and embedding into the bedhead. Tao Yu’s expression froze in shock, her pupils reflecting Yue Linze’s painful expression. The next second, her body collapsed like soft mud on the bed, closing her eyes with no further response.

A bloody hole appeared on her forehead, blood splashing onto Yue Linze’s face, making him feel burned where touched.

“Darling…”

He called out in a daze, as if just realizing what he had done, and by then, Tao Yu could no longer respond to him.

The gun fell from his hand, dropping silently on the bedsheet. His entire spirit seemed drained, trembling as he reached out to hold Tao Yu’s still-warm body, shaking as he tried to wipe the blood from her face: “Darling, darling…”

He wanted to clean Tao Yu’s face, but the more he wiped, the more blood appeared, until her entire face was covered in blood. Only then did he realize everything had lost meaning.

…Everything was gone. He stared blankly at the breathless Tao Yu, unable to think for a long time.

Before gaining the ability to travel through time and space, his life’s greatest struggle was wanting to leave home but never achieving his wish. Back then, he was at least happy. After gaining this power, he clearly knew how fragile Wuhuang City was, and with just one thought, everything here could disappear. From that moment, he felt endless pressure, never experiencing joy or relaxation again.

But Tao Yu’s arrival changed everything. Even knowing what her appearance meant, he still felt genuinely happy every time he saw her, though this happiness made him feel guilty towards the citizens. Yet he couldn’t control it.

Seeing Tao Yu was like returning to a time before visiting other worlds, still that youth worried about small matters, not the bloodstained executioner. Now that Tao Yu was gone, it felt like his future happiness had left with her, his heart aching so much he wished he had never come to this world.

Inexplicably, he picked up the gun again, turning it towards his own temple, his eyes showing a hint of determination to die. Just as he was about to pull the trigger, a loud noise came from the door. The housekeeper kicked open the door and rushed in, shocked to see the gun and quickly grabbing his hand.

The gun fired towards the ceiling during their struggle, and both fell to the ground due to momentum. Yue Linze sat dazed on the floor by the bed, staring at the housekeeper.

“What are you doing?! What are you doing?!” The housekeeper asked with trembling, cloudy eyes. Fortunately, he had been hiding in the city lord’s mansion; otherwise, he dared not imagine what might have happened if he hadn’t rushed over after hearing the gunshot.

Yue Linze seemed to wake up, his eyes red and trembling: “Housekeeper, I killed A Yu…”

The housekeeper was stunned, staring for a long time before saying, “She already knew?”

Yue Linze nodded, and a small droplet of water fell to the ground, shattering into pieces on the hard floor, dampening a spot.

The housekeeper saw his shoulders shaking slightly, sighed, and patted his knee, his voice hoarse: “If the madam wasn’t someone who would destroy Wuhuang City, she would be someone I could trust to hand you over to. What a pity…”

What a pity that she and Wuhuang City could not coexist. How he wished the city lord could find true love and grow old together, but compared to this vast Wuhuang City and its hundreds of households, the city lord was destined not to live freely.

Small water droplets continued to fall, gradually expanding the damp spot. Yue Linze sat like a lifeless puppet, slumped and motionless.
