Yandere Begs for a Break – Part Three

In an instant, Tao Yu’s brain roared like a train had passed, and for a moment, she could hear nothing except the howling wind.

At this moment, the details she had always overlooked suddenly resurfaced, and she suddenly realized that besides the four people involved in the reform and sacrifice, there was another alter ego among those who had grievances with Zhou Ying and could influence the city’s affairs.

For so long, she had excluded the most suspicious person because of the harmless appearance of this alter ego.

After a long time, she wiped the sweat from her palm on her clothes, staring complexly in the direction of the lantern, where Yue Linze had already turned back.

Tao Yu’s eyes darkened. Now that the shell had been taken by the alter ego – let’s temporarily call him the mysterious person – more questions arose: Why did he have a gun? Why did he have a modern person’s thinking? Was he related to the abnormal deaths of the other alter egos?

She had too many questions, but the most urgent was that the alter ego had been alarmed by the shell and would certainly associate it with someone deliberately placing it there. She must extract herself from his suspicion to continue investigating him.

But it seemed not easy.

Yue Linze returned to the side room expressionlessly, his palm sweaty, the shell pressed against his chest burning like a flame, giving him no moment of peace.

But the instant he entered the room, he appeared as if nothing had happened, talking to his colleagues as before, chatting for a while before looking towards the door again. Wu Daren laughed: “What, couldn’t find your wife?”

“I didn’t go looking for her,” Yue Linze said spiritedly.

Li Daren immediately exposed him: “Ever since your wife went out, you’ve been distracted. You went out not long after, and now you dare say you didn’t go looking for her?”

“Don’t tease me, Li Daren. A Yu is here for the first time, and I was afraid she would get lost,” Yue Linze scratched his head, somewhat awkward. “But I just went out for a walk and didn’t wait for her.”

Wu Daren comforted: “Don’t worry, this inn isn’t big, and people are everywhere. If your wife really gets lost, someone will guide her.”
