Candidates for Mrs. CEO

The daughter bit her lower lip, looking unwilling, “Fine, I’ll go home!” After saying that, she stormed out.

“I’m sorry, Miss Shao, for making you witness this embarrassment,” the boss apologized. “If I didn’t need to go out, I wouldn’t have asked that ill-mannered girl to watch the shop.”

She shook her head, indicating no need to worry, “Boss, are you going to close up here?”

The boss smiled helplessly, “Most likely, yes.”

Upon hearing this, a wave of sadness swept over Shao Pinxi.

Her relationship with Huo Juren had already vanished like smoke, and now, the place that held their beautiful memories was about to disappear as well.

“Is that so? What a pity,” she said softly.

“Can’t be helped. Who told my wallet to be so uncooperative that I can’t pay double the rent?” the boss sighed, trying to lift his spirits. “Let’s not talk about unhappy things. Come! Have some sweet soup and see if my cooking skills have declined.”

“Okay,” Shao Pinxi picked up the spoon and took a couple of sips. “The taste is the same as always, still delicious and memorable.”

The boss laughed happily, “That’s good! The signature dish still holds up. Haha!”

After chatting for a while, the boss said meaningfully: “Miss Shao, don’t think I’m lecturing you, but sometimes, taking a step back can open up a whole new world! What couple doesn’t argue? Arguments aren’t a big deal. The most important thing is not to hold a grudge. Don’t ruin a good relationship because of momentary anger. It’s not worth it.”

Shao Pinxi then realized the boss had misunderstood that she and Huo Juren had a fight.

If only it were just an argument!

A flash of inspiration struck the boss, “Miss Shao, wait a moment!” He immediately walked away.

Soon, the boss returned, holding a photograph.

“Miss Shao, look!” he handed her the Polaroid.

Shao Pinxi took it. In the photo, she and Huo Juren sat together, both wearing slight smiles that revealed a hint of happiness.
