Candidates for Mrs. CEO

The sourness in her nose grew stronger. Shao Pinxi took a deep breath to suppress her urge to cry.

When did she become so tearful like other women? Huo Juren was indeed her greatest nemesis in this life.

In the top-floor CEO office of Huo Corporation:

“Mr. Huo, this is Miss Shao Pinxi’s activity report from yesterday. As per your instructions, all of Miss Shao Pinxi’s conversations have been recorded,” a man in a suit said, slightly bowing to Huo Juren.

Huo Juren could not ignore Shao Pinxi’s inexplicable tears. To solve the mystery, he ordered her to be followed more closely. Her every move and word had to be completely monitored to gather more clues and understand the reason behind her sudden tears.

The person tracking Shao Pinxi disguised himself as a customer and entered the sweet soup shop to record her actions and conversations up close.

“Put it down,” he commanded in a low voice.

“Yes!” The man immediately stepped forward, respectfully placing the report and a small recording device on the desk.

“Leave,” he wanted to be alone.

“Yes!” Without hesitation, the man quickly exited the CEO’s office.

Huo jun ren picked up the report, reading it quickly but carefully. After finishing, a hint of confusion unexpectedly appeared on his handsome face, cold as ten thousand years of ice.

“Why… would she go back to that dessert shop?” Huo Junren murmured softly. “And moreover…”

His gaze drifted to the voice recorder, which he picked up with a large hand and decisively pressed play.

The silent CEO’s office suddenly replayed the conversation between Shao Pingxi and the dessert shop owner.

Having heard it with his own ears, Huo Junren’s doubts grew even larger.

“Why…” he couldn’t understand.

It was just a dessert shop about to go out of business, so why did she sound so sad when speaking?

Why… wouldn’t she clarify that they had already broken up? Why did she even promise to visit the shop together another day?

What concerned Huo Junren most was why Shao Pingxi’s “okay” carried an almost imperceptible choke, as if she was trying to suppress some sorrow…

“You clearly played me, deceived my feelings, why would you… again…” do something inconsistent with an unfaithful betrayer?
