“Yes,” Han Xu handed her the bag, “What do you need this for, a mock trial at school?”
Tao Le looked down guiltily before casually replying, “Something like that, I’ll return it after I’m done.”
Han Xu was skeptical, recalling her earlier request on the phone, which didn’t sound like a legitimate use, but he couldn’t refuse because it was her. “I’ve got to go, you should head back too.” Tao Le turned to enter the club but glanced back at him, nodding slightly, “Han Xu, thank you!”
Han Xu watched her enter, a sense of unease lingering. He returned to his car, not in a hurry to start the engine, his gaze fixed on the golden ‘Flower Among Flowers’ sign. The more he thought, the less it made sense. A pregnant woman, married, why would she be here? Unless… Han Xu was startled, jumped out of the car, and dashed into the club without a second thought…
Meanwhile, Tao Le was ready. As she stepped out of the restroom, she glanced at herself in the mirror. This was her first and likely last time doing something like this, and the consequences were unpredictable. But she had made up her mind; she was going to take down the beast named Su, even if it meant her own downfall. Taking a deep breath, she walked briskly out of the restroom.
Her appearance startled the staff and hostesses at the ‘Flower Among Flowers’. Where did this police officer come from? There was no word of a raid tonight. What was happening? Indeed, Tao Le, now in police uniform, was charging towards a private room. She intended to give those involved in prostitution a scare, but her main target was that beast named Su. The staff wanted to stop her but didn’t dare; she was from the Public Security Bureau, and they couldn’t afford to oppose her. Someone quickly went to fetch the manager, but Tao Le kicked open doors as she went, proving her agility despite her pregnancy.
“Comrade, let’s talk this out, sit down, and discuss,” someone called from behind.
But Tao Le wasn’t in the mood for discussion. She reached the door of the room and kicked it open, shouting like in the movies, “Everyone, hands up, now!”
