Hello, Prosecutor

The men and women in the room were stunned, all turning to look at the door where a pregnant woman in police uniform stood, glaring fiercely at them. Tao Le’s heart was pounding; she was impersonating an officer, a crime with potentially severe consequences, but there was no turning back now. “There’s been a report of group prostitution here. Everyone, line up, men on the left, women on the right, and show me your IDs!”

Though not an Oscar-worthy performance, if this were a mock training at the police academy, Tao Le would have won first prize. But now, there was no time to admire her acting; she was here to cause chaos. The people in the room didn’t move, the men’s faces growing darker, none speaking, just watching Tao Le. She felt a chill, having avoided looking in one direction, but now she felt a sharp gaze upon her. She looked up, meeting Su Yiwen’s icy stare, his lips pressed into a thin line, his fist clenched at his side, clearly struggling to control his emotions.
Tao Leke was unaware of Su Yiwen’s thoughts. All she saw was a foreign blonde woman still clinging to him, which ignited her fury to its peak. Ignoring the crowd, she rushed over, grabbed the foreign woman’s hand, and yelled, “Get up when I tell you to! Are you deaf? Don’t be ungrateful!” The foreign woman resisted in broken Chinese, mixed with English shouts, her voice piercingly shrill. Tao Leke didn’t care about being gentle; with brute force, she pulled, as this woman was clinging to her husband, leading her down a path of no return. She couldn’t afford to be lenient.
