Hello, Prosecutor

After finally shaking off Fan Jian, Tao Le learned that the gathering was just to confirm the members of the group. As she suspected, she was indeed the only female in the group of twelve. Well, she was the only flower in this group. Tao Le’s resentment grew deeper; she hoped not to find out who arranged this list, or she would definitely go after them with a weapon.

Just then, the group in front stopped. Tao Le was puzzled until someone asked who should knock on the door. She looked again and realized they had reached the office door. Then some scoundrel suggested, “Tao Le, why don’t you knock?”
Tao Le was caught off guard when she was suddenly called out. She looked up to find all eyes on her, filled with eager anticipation as if she were the Virgin Mary. “Tao Le, you’re a girl, so of course, you should knock,” someone said. What nonsense! Tao Le glared, wondering why the usual enthusiasm these rogues showed for well-endowed women wasn’t on display now. She knew being the only standout had its downsides, but now wasn’t the time to dwell on that. “Alright, alright, you guys are making too much of this. It’s just knocking on a door,” Tao Le said with a frown, stepping forward as the men parted like subjects making way for their queen. She knocked lightly three times and heard a voice from inside say, “Come in.”
