“That was just a bluff, nothing to it,” she replied.
“But didn’t you see the aura between her eyebrows? It’s quite strong, with a valiant air. As an outsider, I think she’s quite the martial artist,” Feng Qing said, picking up his bowl again to continue eating.
Xu Xianqi silently watched him, then took small steps towards the sword hanging on the wall.
“Can you wield it?” Feng Qing asked with concern.
To his surprise, the sword seemed weightless in Xu Xianqi’s hand, and she lightly brandished it, performing several stunning sword techniques, leaving Feng Qing in awe.
“Good… really fierce…” He watched her dance with her sword, his eyes wide with admiration.
“Huh.” She stopped after a few moves, swiftly sheathing her sword, and then returned to her seat by the wooden table.
As soon as she sat down, Xu Xian’en came out of the door.
Such coincidence made Xuan Ben wonder if it had something to do with her exceptional hearing.
“Hey, you haven’t finished eating yet? That’s a bit slow, isn’t it?” Xu Xian’en deeply furrowed her brows. “Forget it, I’ll go start the car outside, you eat quickly.”
Watching her rush out the door, Xuan Ben instinctively wanted to follow, but he stopped when he realized he still had his bowl and chopsticks in hand.
“Take your time with the dishes, I’ll wash them when I get back.” He nodded at Xu Xianqi, then dashed out like the wind.
Silently staring at the doorway, Xu Xianqi smiled slightly and continued sipping her soup.
In fact, Xu Xian’en wasn’t as principled as she claimed.
Indeed, she had originally intended to leave Xuan Ben at his doorstep and drive off, but his pleading look was enough to crumble her resolve, adding fuel to the fire, causing a storm of emotions.
Thus, this seemingly iron-hearted woman abandoned her own vehicle, choosing instead to run to work on foot.
Then, the day passed in a blur, and as she stood at the main entrance, utterly exhausted after her shift, she suddenly remembered leaving her car with that annoying, yet more beautiful than her, guy!
“I really want to kill someone…” Xu Xian’en muttered resentfully.
