One Wife, Multiple Husbands – Part Two

Eleven's mouth curved deeper: "You're safe, and that's all that matters." Seeing her unharmed made all his searching and anxiety worthwhile.

Ye Hui pointed to a village a mile or two away and said, "I'm almost starving, and my legs are about to break. Let's go to that village, find a house, clean up, eat something to fill our stomachs, and continue our journey tomorrow morning!"

Eleven swept her up in his arms: "I'll carry you there!"

Held horizontally against him, their eyes met. Ye Hui felt his gaze contained immeasurable emotions. Suddenly feeling indebted to him, she rested her head on his chest and softly said, "Put me down. You're tired too. I can walk."

He gave an almost imperceptible smile: "My lady need not worry. I... your servant is fine."

As Eleven carried her, she suddenly exclaimed, "Put me down! I have something to tell you, something I promised..." But he didn't release her, instead asking, "What is it, my lady?"

Ye Hui recounted falling into a trap and encountering a black wolf, concluding, "You know, adversity reveals true feelings..." Oh, revealing true feelings to a wolf - a slip of the tongue. She wanted to bite her own tongue and quickly shook her head: "I mean, in such a situation, it's rare to have a companion to ease the loneliness, at least to prevent feeling completely desperate."

Eleven laughed softly, the moonlight illuminating his ivory-like face, making him even more beautiful: "I'll help you rescue it."

He turned and walked back the way they came, moving incredibly fast even while carrying her. Following her directions, they reached the trap in just a few minutes.

Setting her down, he lightly touched the ground, leaped into the trap, removed the iron wire from the wolf's neck, grabbed its waist with one hand and a tree root with the other, and effortlessly jumped back to the surface.

After placing the wolf on the ground without a second glance, he picked up Ye Hui and headed towards the eastern village.

Ye Hui clung to his shoulder, looking back. In the moonlight, the black wolf crouched on the ground, its dark pupils extraordinarily brilliant.

"Eleven, that black wolf is so strange. It's bowing again. Really, compared to many unreasonable humans, wild animals are actually much purer. I just don't understand how it ended up alone - aren't wolves pack animals?"

"How does my lady know wolves are pack animals?" Eleven continued walking, looking surprised. Beyond those he cared about, he was rarely interested in anything else.

Ye Hui looked him up and down, knowing that he was urgently restless and would feel guilty about rejecting such a handsome man’s advances.
