One Wife, Multiple Husbands – Part Two

Ye Hui understood this was an animal’s way of showing affection and let it continue, examining the tree roots around it, grabbing one and climbing up. The trap was over a person’s height, but with external support, climbing out wasn’t difficult.

She used hands and feet, reaching the trap’s exterior in half a second.

Standing on dew-covered lush green grass, with the bright moon overhead and the vast, expansive land stretching to the horizon, occasionally interrupted by distant animal cries in otherwise complete silence.

Ye Hui looked back into the trap. The black wolf was looking up, its eyes full of sorrow and endless pleading. She understood its meaning, her heart softening, yet closing her eyes. Forgive her selfishness – in such a dangerous place, being kind-hearted was impossible.

Glancing at the sparse human settlements in the moonlight, she told the black wolf, “Hang on for a few more hours. When I find help, I’ll bring someone to rescue you.”

The black wolf was now her fellow sufferer!

Ye Hui, enduring hunger and thirst, walked towards the human settlements under the moonlight. After ten-odd minutes, a swift wind sound came from behind…

She instinctively turned back, suddenly both shocked and delighted. A man in a long white robe stood before her, his features chiseled and beautiful, body tall and sturdy, exuding an ethereal quality. Moonlight cascaded on him, resembling a celestial being.

“Eleven,” Ye Hui felt like she’d found family. Remembering the day’s suffering, she shed tears of joy, smiling at him – both from sorrow and happiness. Without thinking, she threw herself into his broad embrace, feeling him hold her, his dry lips pressing and grinding against hers.

When had they become intimate enough to kiss upon meeting? Well, if she wanted to kiss, she’d kiss! She couldn’t speak, enveloped in his powerful arms, nestled into his embrace, feeling his warm breath and intense love.

After a long kiss, Ye Hui felt her tongue being bitten painfully and moved back to catch her breath.

“Wife, I’ll take you home,” Eleven said, reluctantly stopping the kiss. Due to his excitement, he had even abandoned the formal address and directly said “wife”.

Ye Hui gazed at his handsome face, seeing his warm eyes filled with a crazy light. In the moonlight, she could clearly see the bloodshot corners of his eyes and the deep furrows between his brows. She gently touched his forehead and whispered, “You must have been so worried, Eleven.”
