Please Be My Princess – Part One

Hui looked at Si Xiaoshuang sitting across from him, laughing and playing with the young master, looking beautiful and attractive. But for him, this could only be a fantasy, something to be kept only in his dreams.

Hui told himself he must maintain his position. Steeling his heart, he stood up, raised his glass, and looked at Si Xiaoshuang, “Miss Si, I’d like to toast you. I wish you and Young Master Tian Ye happiness.” He held his glass in the air, waiting for her response.

Si Xiaoshuang heard Hui’s sudden statement and her heart skipped a beat. She had been laughing moments ago but now didn’t know what to say. Hui was still holding his glass, waiting for her. Si Xiaoshuang hastily grabbed her glass and stood up, “Oh, thank you.” Then she looked at the expressionless Hui and drank her wine decisively.

Tian Ye sat to the side, watching this scene silently, still happy and talking about cheerful topics, telling many amusing jokes that made Si Xiaoshuang and Hui laugh heartily.

Only, Tian Ye had drunk quite a lot of alcohol.

Tian Ye understood the pain behind Hui’s words, something only those who have experienced love would comprehend. Tian Ye suddenly felt melancholic, still deeply in love with Mei Yu, while Hui had fallen for Si Xiaoshuang but, because of their social status, had let go of his love. Meanwhile, Si Xiaoshuang was experiencing two very different yet equally excellent men, and her pure self began to waver.

Perhaps due to the alcohol or emotional pain, while drinking enthusiastically, Tian Ye suddenly stood up and told Si Xiaoshuang and Hui, “I’m feeling a bit unwell. You two continue drinking. I’m going out for some air.” He then walked towards the door. Tian Ye was missing Mei Yu, wanting to find a place to talk to her alone and also give Hui and Si Xiaoshuang some space.

Hui, hearing the young master wasn’t feeling well, instinctively stood up to check but stopped and said to Si Xiaoshuang, “Miss Si, could you please go check on the young master? He might have drunk too much.” Hui wanted to give Tian Ye and Si Xiaoshuang a chance to be alone, and going to the seaside to talk was perfect timing.

Si Xiaoshuang glanced at Hui at the table and ran after Tian Ye.

Tian Ye was walking towards the seaside, holding a bottle of wine, swaying slightly. No matter how Si Xiaoshuang called out behind him, Tian Ye didn’t turn back, only focused on drinking.

Seeing that she couldn’t get his attention, Si Xiaoshuang had to speed up and catch up, suddenly grabbing Tian Ye from behind. “Brother Tian Ye, you’re drunk. Let’s go back,” she said, trying to pull him towards the restaurant.

Tian Ye shook his head, steadied himself, saw it was Si Xiaoshuang, pushed her hand away, and pointed at her, slurring, “Who are you? Go back and keep Hui company. Don’t bother me.” Then he took another swig from the bottle.

Si Xiaoshuang noticed Tian Ye was truly drunk and tried to take the bottle. “You’re drunk. You can’t drink anymore.”

Tian Ye waved his hand and took the bottle back, shouting, “I’m drunk? Being drunk is good! When I’m drunk, I think of Mei Yu again. Yes, I’m drunk, but I know who I still love.”

You’re not drunk, but what about you?” He swayed and took another drink.

Si Xiaoshuang was stunned by the drunk Tian Ye’s surprisingly clear question, standing there stammering, “I… I… actually, oh… I.” She spoke for a long time without finishing.

Tian Ye, seeing Si Xiaoshuang’s state, got angry. He grabbed her hand, “Come, follow me. I’ll show you what love is.” He then led Si Xiaoshuang towards the nearby beach.

Tianye ignored her, excitedly bringing Si Xiaoshuang to the beach where they had played together that afternoon.

Finally, they arrived. Tianye stopped and stood with Si Xiaoshuang, turning to her and saying, “Look, take a good look.”

Si Xiaoshuang brushed away the hair blown by the sea breeze, crossed her arms, and said to Tianye, “Look at what? I’m freezing.”

Tianye pointed to the ground, “Look carefully.”

Si Xiaoshuang’s puzzled expression instantly froze when she looked down. On the beach were six large characters: “Si Xiaoshuang, I Love You”, each character two square meters in size.

Though slightly distorted by sea wind and water, the characters appeared more precise and romantic under the cold wind and bright moonlight.

Si Xiaoshuang crouched, tracing the deep lines of the characters in the sand, carefully revealing the traces buried by wind and sand. At this moment, she felt the beach was warm and cozy.

Tianye turned his head, also crouching and watching Si Xiaoshuang’s face filled with surprise and joy. “Hui wrote these after we returned to the resort. He wrote them so deeply and large that he even wore down his hands. He really loves you.”

Si Xiaoshuang continued looking down, silent.

Tianye placed his hand on her shoulder, his voice slightly choked. “He loves you so much, yet at the dinner table, he was still blessing our happiness. Do you know how painful that must have been? I could see he made the greatest sacrifice a man could make. And you’re still talking about me being drunk and taking care of me – Hui is the one who needs care, understand? Seeing his expression reminded me of Meiyou. Such pain buried in the heart is so difficult. Do you understand?”

Tianye, at his most angry, threw the wine bottle into the sea, creating a large splash that sprinkled Si Xiaoshuang, who, usually so pristine, didn’t even dodge.

Si Xiaoshuang covered her face, her voice slightly tearful, “Hui… why are you so silly? Why didn’t you tell me?” Standing up, she looked at Tianye, “He’s so bad, hmph…” Actually, Si Xiaoshuang wasn’t crying, just overwhelmed with happy tears.

On a dark path through the amusement park, Tian Ye deliberately told ghost stories to Si Xiaoshuang, trying to scare her. She was so frightened that she covered her ears and cried out wanting to go home.

Tian Ye became even more excited, saying, “Let’s go, big brother will take you to find Mei Yu.” They arrived at the amusement park, with the haunted house located in a desolate corner.

Tian Ye led Si Xiaoshuang through dark, overgrown paths. The haunted house was completely dark, surrounded by wild grass, with night winds rustling through them, creating eerie sounds. A disturbing smell permeated the area.

Si Xiaoshuang suddenly stopped, pointing at some mound-like structures ahead and shouting in fear. Tian Ye casually remarked, “They’re just graves. What’s there to be afraid of?” He kicked one of the graves, which collapsed, revealing they were just mud bricks.

At the haunted house entrance, a deep, mysterious voice welcomed them.

Si Xiaoshuang was terrified, trying to pull Tian Ye away. He dragged her inside, the door slamming shut behind them, plunging the space into complete darkness.

Inside, the haunted house was filled with bloody, gruesome displays – headless female corpses, dismembered bodies, and scattered skulls. Small candles cast eerie shadows, creating a horrifying environment. Tian Ye enthusiastically described the grotesque exhibits to the terrified Si Xiaoshuang.

A nine-headed monster covered in poisonous spiders appeared, with snake heads writhing and displaying bloody tongues. Tian Ye continued telling horrifying stories, causing Si Xiaoshuang to cry and tremble.

Eventually, Si Xiaoshuang found herself alone in the dark maze-like haunted house. Panicking, she tried to find her way out, hearing terrifying screams echoing around her.

Tian Ye had already escaped through a side door and quickly called Hui, urgently asking him to come to the haunted house. Hui, who was drinking at a restaurant, immediately rushed to help. Hui immediately started driving over, not daring to waste a single second, feeling that breathing was wasting time. He had to arrive as quickly as possible.
