Super Employee

Moreover, from an emotional standpoint, every leader hopes their subordinates follow their commands, seeing it as an acknowledgment of their authority and personal respect. Those who always go against the boss’s instructions, opposing them at every turn, are not favored by anyone. Therefore, one should not just bury their head and proceed solely in their own way.

If you have objections to the boss’s instructions or feel that their methods are not suitable for you, communication with the boss is advisable. On one hand, through conversation, the boss can understand your thoughts, possibly accepting your approach. On the other hand, through this dialogue, you can understand the boss’s intentions, which might have deeper implications. Such communication can also teach you something, increasing your insight and abilities, and allowing you to better understand your boss’s thinking and temperament.

If there’s no time for communication or if you fear the boss’s interference might force you to change your approach, you might decide to go ahead silently. However, if this later causes the boss’s displeasure, you must find a way to explain it clearly, possibly in a more tactful manner, considering the company’s perspective. Never assume that doing things well will automatically please the boss. If you continue to act unilaterally, even if you execute perfectly, without communicating or explaining, you might still provoke the boss’s anger.

Never Abuse Power In some companies, individuals are both “employees” and “bosses,” working for their superiors while having some managerial authority. Some, though not managing others directly, can decide or influence others’ benefits, which is another form of power.

Some of these people, once they have a bit of power, use it to seek personal gain or to show off their authority, favoritism, or to cultivate their own followers and form cliques. These are all manifestations of power abuse.

Leadership is meant to guide others towards collective growth and strength. Power exists to ensure internal order and efficiency. It is a responsibility, not just a coercive force. A boss delegates power to subordinates hoping they will share some responsibilities and assist in management for the company’s orderly operation and better development. However, if someone treats this power as their personal possession for private gain or to expand their influence, it will inevitably bring negative impacts to the company.
