Veiled Heartbreak

Fu Yusen sat at the head of the long table, coldly watching as his subordinates fiercely debated over a project.

His mind wandered, thinking that if Jiang Nuan were here, the meeting would have been over by now.

“Jiang Nuan.”

A sudden voice interrupted, and the discussion paused for a moment, but no one reminded Fu Yusen.

After the meeting, as Fu Yusen left, whispers filled the room.

“How many times has the CEO called for Assistant Jiang out of the blue?”

“Isn’t Assistant Jiang supposed to have resigned?”

“Didn’t the CEO never approve it…”

In the afternoon, Fu Yusen left the company.

Facing Jiang Nuan’s mother, he asked coldly, “What’s the matter?”

Jiang’s mother smiled obsequiously, “Jiang Nuan accidentally tore up the check. Could you write a new one for me?”

Fu Yusen saw through her insincere words, frowning, “We’ll talk about it another time.”

He walked away briskly, but his mind was not at ease.

Jiang Nuan didn’t take the ten million? Why?

Driving to Jiang Nuan’s apartment, he knocked for a long time with no answer.

Standing at the door, he felt increasingly frustrated.

Ignoring everything, he pulled out his phone to call her.

The phone rang endlessly, and he realized she had blocked him!

Fu Yusen was furious, pounding on the door.

“Hiding from me?”

“Too bad, wherever you hide, I’ll find you!” He dialed Lin Bei’s number: “Where are you? I’m coming to discuss our engagement.”

He decided to move up the engagement date, convinced that this would force Jiang Nuan to show her true colors!

Wasn’t she the most concerned about his marriage? She even quit her job over it. Fine, let’s see who can push whom harder.

On the other end, Lin Bei’s voice was hoarse beyond recognition: “Cheng Nan Funeral Home.”

Fu Yusen vaguely remembered that Zhao Yu was buried there.

He didn’t love Lin Bei, naturally didn’t care about her past, nor did he mind her suddenly showing up at such an inauspicious place.

Fu Yusen just clicked his tongue impatiently.

Half an hour later, at Cheng Nan Funeral Home.

Fu Yusen slowly approached Lin Bei, who was standing in front of a white door, and said coldly, “You’ve broken our agreement.”
