Tao Yu frowned and met his gaze, eventually nodding perfunctorily. The door closed between them. She returned to bed, feeling troubled, rolling around and punching the pillow to release her frustration. After venting some of her anger, she pulled the blanket to continue sleeping.
The bed became much quieter, but not for long. Tao Yu lifted the blanket, stared blankly for a moment, then went to open the door with a stern face. Yue Linze was indeed still waiting, but the flowers were gone.
When Yue Linze saw her come out, his eyes filled with amusement. Seeing her gaze stop where the flowers had been, he suppressed a laugh and explained: “The smell was too strong, so I had someone throw them away.”
“…I remember those were for me,” Tao Yu, feeling frustrated by his semi-forced invitation, wanted to find fault even though she hadn’t originally intended to accept his flowers, “So what right does Mr. Yue have to dispose of them?”
Yue Linze was silent for a moment: “I’ll send you another bouquet.”
“That wouldn’t be the original one,” Tao Yu feigned annoyance, “Mr. Yue’s way of sending flowers is too unique. I really can’t accept it. I hope you won’t do this again.”
Yue Linze, of course, knew she was deliberately looking for an argument. He frowned slightly: “Just because I threw away the flowers, you’re going to deprive me of the right to send flowers in the future?”
“This is my personal decision. I hope Mr. Yue can respect it,” Tao Yu laughed helplessly.
Yue Linze fell silent again, then curved his lips: “If I bring the flowers back, can I send flowers to you in the future?”
“Even if you bring them back now, they’ve already been discarded. I’m afraid I won’t accept anything you send in the future,” Tao Yu’s intention was to reduce this ambiguous entanglement. But since the contract wasn’t complete, she couldn’t completely disregard Yue Linze’s face. So she thought for a moment and added, “Of course, if you had respected me just now, I would still be willing to accept your flowers. But unfortunately… I can only say sorry.”
