Yandere Begs for a Break – Part Three

Yue Linze said nothing, his eyes turning red as if about to cry. Tao Yu instantly felt a headache: “Fine, light it!”

Yue Linze immediately nodded and ran to the cabinet to find incense. Tao Yu glanced at his back, turned over, and continued sleeping. Soon she smelled the incense and heard Yue Linze’s soft chanting.

Yue Linze’s voice was originally magnetic, and now deliberately lowered, it carried a strange quality – both cold and seductive, not like a holy monk, but more like a bewitching spirit.

Tao Yu wanted to open her eyes and tell him to stop, but her sleepiness grew stronger, and she soon fell into a sweet darkness.

When she woke up the next morning, she rubbed her dizzy head and opened her eyes, not seeing Yue Linze but finding the maid who had served her yesterday.

The maid, seeing her awake, hurried over: “Madam, you’re awake?”

“Mm, where is the city lord?” Tao Yu asked confusedly.

The maid replied: “Last night, Young Master Zhou fell into the lake while boating and drowned. The city lord went to investigate today.”

“Oh,” Tao Yu’s brain was still foggy, and she didn’t react much to the maid’s words. It was only when the maid was about to leave that she realized what she had just heard.

Tao Yu’s voice suddenly rose: “Who did you say this Zhou family’s young master was?!”

The maid, startled by her reaction, quickly said: “There’s only one young master in the Zhou family, named Zhou Ying.”

Tao Yu was stunned, and after a long while, she slowly opened her mouth, her bright eyes filled with shock.

Madam, the servant just heard from a gossip-seeking errand boy that Young Master Zhou has already been fished out and sent to the government office, so the city lord should be at the government office now,” the maidservant said hurriedly.

Tao Yu nodded, and after a simple wash-up, she instructed the maidservant: “Take me to the government office.”

“Madam?” The maidservant looked at her in confusion. Just moments ago, she had been flustered by the madam’s questioning and hadn’t noticed something was off. Now, she wondered why the madam seemed particularly concerned about this Zhou family young master and wanted to go see him.
