Myth of Madness

She hurriedly got up, pulling the still dazed Suo Ben off the ground. “Run away now—”

He, as if just waking from a dream, still couldn’t quite grasp the situation. “Why? It’s just a giant human-like creature? Why run away?”

Although he asked, not understanding, he still followed Xu Xian’en in a smooth flow.

She pulled him into the dense forest, panting as she said, “That’s Yi Yang, supposedly a mountain spirit. I don’t know why he would run here; he should be in the south… Ah, I don’t know how to explain it, but he can eat people, so, let’s run.”

Upon hearing that it could eat people, Suo Ben’s doubts vanished immediately. He didn’t mind risking his life for fun, but he certainly didn’t want to lose his life.

They ran straight ahead without stopping, passing through countless dense woods. Before their eyes, there was nothing but trees, and the mountain paths seemed endless, no matter which direction they ran, they always ended up seeing the same path.

The same landscape.

“Damn it! Why have we been running for so long and still see it?” Xu Xian’en panted heavily, hiding behind a tree and whispering in frustration.

“Is it because we’re just going in circles?” Suo Ben was also panting but not as anxious as her.

“No way, if we were really going in circles, we wouldn’t see the same things in all directions.” She looked at him.

He looked back at her, “En En, have you ever thought… since Yi Yang, as you said, is a mountain spirit, so… maybe he can do something mischievous…” He gestured. “Do you understand what I mean?”

“You mean…” Xu Xian’en squinted her eyes, unsure.

“Ghost hitting the wall.”

They said in unison.

Suo Ben gave her an approving smile. “Conclusion’s not going to be drawn.” In less than two seconds, Xia Ben Ma’s face turned into a bitter gourd.

“Seems like it.” Xu Xian En watched him sitting defeated on the ground.
