Myth of Madness

“Alright, alright, both of you, stop arguing, okay? I’m so hungry my stomach is growling! Let’s find a place to camp.” Xiao Bao, with a face full of black stripes, spoke up. Now that the cow could talk, it was even more of a chatterbox than before.

“It’s all his fault!”

“It’s all her fault!”

Even a human and a cow can have a silent understanding, especially when arguing.

Xu Xian’en and Xiao Bao didn’t stay in Yibang for long. The next morning, they were on their way, with big and small bags in tow.

Because the cow, responsible for transportation, suddenly started speaking yesterday, it was now using its newfound voice to assert its “cow rights,” so Xiao Bao specifically bought some food just for it.

Dry hay, which wasn’t appetizing when too wet; a whole bag of water, and fruits of various sizes and textures, the key point being they were seedless.

“So picky,” Xu Xian’en continued to criticize the cow’s demands from last night. “I’ve never seen a cow as picky as this one, making us carefully select which fruits are seedless, how picky!”

“En En, don’t be like this. We depend on it to move now.”

“Hmph! If you have seeds, don’t come back to our time, or I’ll eat you!” Xu Xian’en, with hands on hips, menacingly warned the cow.

The cow lazily turned its head, slightly lifting its right nostril, lightly puffing out an unpleasant breath, “Of course I have seeds, because I’m a bull.”

It was this attitude that made her really want to flatten it.

Xiao Bao sat silently behind, wiping his face. Since the cow joined their life, he found himself often wiping his face or scratching his head.

“You two stop arguing. If you really parted ways, I’d miss you both the most.” He shook his head, a smile at the corner of his mouth, “I really can’t stand you two, always fighting. Do you have to argue every day? And you,” he poked Xu Xian’en’s head, “What’s the matter? Used to fight with me, now you ignore me because you have a new favorite?”

“Hmph… I’m not eating vinegar…,” the cow brother stopped, stretched lazily, and then continued walking forward.
