“It’s not a big deal if we didn’t sell out. Besides, we only need to exchange for some grain, why sell out completely? Also, think from their perspective. This isn’t something they’re familiar with, and eating it might seem risky. Moreover, we’re from out of town; they haven’t even seen us before, so how could they fully trust the food we sell? I think even you wouldn’t be so naive as to blindly trust, right?” “Can’t we? But, will selling these be enough for us to buy food and water on the way?” Xu Xian’en looked at him and then at the money in the bag. The money didn’t look like money; it rather resembled stones of different colors.
“Enough, do you think we’re buying something extravagant? It’s just food and water, you’re not planning to buy clothes here, are you?” He looked at her, taking her hand with his large one.
“How could I—” She looked at him in shock, “Don’t stop, I have two hands, you know!”
“Let’s go! We’ll wander around their market, maybe stay overnight in this country. We’ll buy some fish and meat to cook over a fire, have a good lunch and dinner to help you recover from your illness, fill up our stomachs, so we won’t get hungry on the road.” He pulled her along, and she pulled the cow, and so they went one after the other.
They bought a lot of things, many strange fruits and vegetables they had never seen before, along with a three-headed fish and a piece of pork.
“Tonight we’re definitely going to have a full belly,” Xu Xian’en suddenly remarked as they mounted the divine cow to find their campsite for the night after shopping.
“Why?” Bao Ban looked more confident now.
“Because I’ve never seen these vegetables before, how am I supposed to cook them?” She grabbed her scalp in frustration, “Oh, and the thought of that three-headed fish is bothering me.”
“What’s so strange about a three-headed fish? Haven’t you seen a twelve-legged cow?”
“Bao Ban, your voice sounds weird,” she turned to look at him. “Are you feeling unwell?”
“I… I haven’t spoken,” his cheeks twitched as he silently prayed it wasn’t what he feared.
