The Wall of Roses

Under the encouragement and companionship of Yue Xiyi, Yu Yelan underwent a full month of psychological therapy.

Two identical bloody faces always appeared before Yu Yelan, and she could not calm down. She mumbled to the doctor, describing what happened, starting from the first time of time reversal, until Yan Wusleeve died twice in front of her. Mentioning these memories made Yu Yelan’s body uncontrollably tremble, with the sound of her teeth chattering piercingly horrifying.

After injecting a sedative and putting Yu Yelan to sleep, the psychologist met with Yue Xiyi. He adjusted his glasses and slowly told Yue Xiyi his conclusions.

However, when the psychologist was halfway through, Yue Xiyi slapped the table, stood up, and stormed out.

Yu Yelan’s account was truly hard to imagine, defying science and common sense. Perhaps, as the psychologist said, Yu Yelan had hallucinations from excessive shock. But what is “delusion”? What does “needing psychiatric treatment” mean?

Yue Xiyi continued to stay by Yu Yelan’s bedside, accompanying her to see the psychologist every day, but would never let the little rabbit go to any psychiatric hospital!

A month later, the time sequence entered December, officially entering winter, and Yu Yelan finally returned to school to attend classes.

Yu Yelan had basically recovered.

These days, Ye and the doctor continuously emphasized that Yan Wusleeve’s death had nothing to do with her. She didn’t know, only feeling afraid when thinking about blood everywhere, but now she was no longer like a startled bird.

On the first day Yu Yelan returned to school at noon, Yue Xiyi burst into Qin Boxiao’s office, grabbing Qin Boxiao’s collar, “Qin Boxiao, you bastard, if you have any bad ideas, come at me. Why go after the little rabbit?”

Yue Xiyi’s eyes were red, violently shaking Qin Boxiao.

Qin Boxiao sighed inwardly; this brother was completely devoted. Anything related to the little rabbit would make him extremely nervous.

Yu Yelan rushed in, “Ye, don’t do this, let go of Brother Qin, it was my idea, truly my idea.”

Hearing Yu Yelan’s anxious voice, Yue Xiyi released Qin Boxiao and immediately became tender.

“Little rabbit, why do you want to participate? You clearly don’t like crowded activities,” Yue Xiyi held Yu Yelan’s hand and sat on the sofa, wrapping his arm around her thin shoulders. Despite trying to nourish the little rabbit, she had still lost a whole circle, looking like a rabbit during a famine, ready to fall with a breeze.

Surfacing Marriage Contract (4)

Little Rabbit, I’ll be your dance partner. Trust me, I’ll do very well.” Yue Xiye finally let go of Qin Poxiao, hugging Yu Yilan out of the president’s office. As he closed the door, his gaze swept over Qin Poxiao – not as icy as before, but still making one’s skin crawl.

Qin Poxiao rubbed the goosebumps on his arm, chewed a mouthful of rice, and laughed.

Heh, this is called “A gentleman’s revenge is never too late.”

In his first year of high school, it was Yue Xiye who designed his participation in the Canglie City Latin Dance Friendship Competition. Although he didn’t unexpectedly win first place, he remembered that grudge.

Thinking this, Qin Poxiao’s mood improved greatly.

The friendship competition was set for Christmas Eve.

The Canglie High School Latin Dance Friendship Competition was started by two noble high schools in Canglie. Despite investing so much funding and carefully selecting students, they still couldn’t compete with the mixed-ability Liufeng High School.

They hoped to win this competition to make up for their losses in speech and sports competitions, yet they had been continuously failing for two years.

When other schools saw Yue Xiye’s name among the participants, they relaxed and laughed, because Yue Xiye always topped various academic competitions in Canglie City. No one had ever heard that he could dance. Believing “God is fair,” the school boards of both noble middle schools felt at ease.

Yue Xiye and Yu Yilan had only twenty days of training. They couldn’t neglect their coursework, and with finals approaching, Yue Xiye watched Yu Yilan’s studies very closely.

Originally, Yue Xiye was a bit impatient, but every time Yu Yilan blushed and placed her hand in his, sparks blossomed in his heart. For this rosy little face, even these boring tasks became interesting.

(Continued in the next part about the dance competition and interactions between characters)

“Don’t pay attention to him, he’s a show-off who gets more excited the more you engage with him.”

“Mm,” Yue Xiye stroked Yu Yelan’s hair.

As long as his little rabbit could always be this happy, he would do anything – not to mention a small Latin dance competition!

Yu Yelan loved dancing. She could sweat, get a close-up view of Yue Xiye’s handsome face, and feel blissfully immersed. However, Yue Xiye’s requirement was that she had to return home by 8 PM, with practice not exceeding an hour and a half. Yu Yelan had grown accustomed to being compliant, believing that every decision Yue Xiye made was for her own good.

With Qin Poxiao and Wei Qingyang joining in, time passed quickly. Yu Yelan lingered practicing for another hour, and they had dinner near the school before preparing to return home. As they drove towards their residential area, they saw massive flames a few streets before their complex, with numerous fire trucks rushing to the burning area.

“Ye, Ye, it’s on fire, it’s on fire!” Yu Yelan nervously gripped Yue Xiye’s fingers, pointing out the flames visible behind the layers of buildings. “Ye, it seems to be in our residential area!”

Yue Xiye looked up at the flames. “Captain, what exactly is happening?”

“Reporting, Your Highness,” the captain responded seriously, “The apartment building where you reside caught fire without apparent reason half an hour ago. We didn’t notify you because we didn’t think it was necessary. They are already controlling the fire, and currently, there are no casualties!”

“Not necessary?” Yue Xiye repeated the words, his expression darkening.

“Ye, Ye, Xiao Xiao Lan is still at home, Xiao Xiao Lan!” Yu Yelan suddenly remembered the small dog sleeping on the sofa when she left in the morning.

“Little rabbit, don’t worry,” Yue Xiye comforted Yu Yelan, then switched to a much colder tone, “Take a shortcut back.”

The driver stepped on the gas and changed routes. However, they got stuck at an overpass, with traffic not moving. Yu Yelan grew increasingly anxious, and finally, Yue Xiye opened the car door and pulled her out. “Let’s walk back!”

When they arrived at the building, the fire was still raging. Water from fire trucks was being consumed by the flames, and government personnel were evacuating surrounding residents as the fire spread to nearby houses.

“Ye, Xiao Xiao Lan… Xiao Xiao Lan… my Xiao Xiao Lan…” Yu Yelan clung to Yue Xiye’s waist, the heat from the flames making her entire body feel scorched.

“Ye, aren’t you jealous of a dog?”

“Looking at Yue Xiye’s expression, Qin Boxiao carefully guessed, and as soon as he finished speaking, he received a white eye from Yue Xiye.

“Alas, Ye, you’ve really sacrificed yourself. You’re not even twenty yet, but you’ve settled your feelings so quickly. How silly!” Qin Boxiao’s expression changed, “What are your thoughts on this?”

“What about you?” Yue Xiye closed his eyes, leaning back on the sofa cushion, but his body couldn’t relax.

“Okay, Ye, for the sake of your beloved little rabbit, I’ll tell you my thoughts. No matter what I say, don’t get excited.” Qin Boxiao glanced at Yue Xiye, wanting to know his thoughts.

Yue Xiye nodded slightly. Although they always had a complicated relationship, Qin Boxiao was the person he trusted most.
