The Struggling CEO

“Madam, Miss Yi An has been locked in the young master’s room for three days now. In the first two or three days after you left, she would drink some milk, but these past three days, she’s locked the door and barely eaten anything. We can’t get in and don’t dare to force our way through. We don’t know what to do!” The housekeeper, Ge Ma, immediately reported the situation upon the mistress’s return, afraid something might happen.

“Three days?!” Wei Fang Yalan’s eyes widened in shock, a bad feeling crossing her mind. “It’s been so long, you should break down the door to get in! What if she does something desperate?”

She hurriedly grabbed a spare key and rushed to Wei Tianlong’s bedroom.

Please don’t do anything foolish! How could she explain it to Yi An’s family? How could she explain it to Tianlong, who loved Yi An so deeply?

“Yi An! Yi An!” She called out while opening the door, with Ge Ma and the servants following behind, ready to help.

As soon as the door opened and she stepped into the room, she saw Yi An pale and frail, emaciated, eyes closed, slumped sideways on the bed’s edge. Everyone was stunned.

Asleep? Unconscious? Or dead?

Wei Fang Yalan was the first to react, rushing forward.

“Yi An, wake up! What’s wrong with you?” She shook her, calling repeatedly. Seeing no response, she and Ge Ma exchanged panicked looks, then anxiously reached out to check her breath.

“She’s still breathing!” This discovery relieved everyone. She quickly slapped Yi An’s cheeks, urgently trying to wake her. “Yi An, don’t scare Auntie, wake up!”

Perhaps due to the slapping, shaking, and loud calls, Yi An, hovering in a hazy space, was brought back. She weakly opened her eyes.

“She’s awake, she’s awake!” everyone joyfully said.

“Yi An, how do you feel?” Wei Fang Yalan leaned in, concerned.

“…” She breathed weakly, then passed out again.

“Call an ambulance!”

Tao Lesi’s “Fallen CEO” Chapter 7

Nearly, Yi An was about to fade away, but fortunately, after emergency hospital treatment, her precious life was saved.

However, due to her excessive grief, she was extremely weak and needed hospital observation and care. More importantly, her body had undergone changes and could no longer withstand the slightest strain.

Upon waking and realizing she was still alive, the bone-cutting pain became clear, and tears involuntarily fell.

“Why did you save me? Wouldn’t it have been better to just die?” Yi An gazed at the ceiling, murmuring complaints, having lost her will to live.

“How can you be so foolish? If Tianlong knew you tried to take your life, he would be heartbroken!” She felt compassionate for her deep love, gently stroking her hair.

After all these ordeals, the usually elegant Wei Fang Yalan looked as if she had suddenly aged ten years.

“Dying would end everything, but those left behind must continue to be tortured by pain and longing. Rather than that, I’d prefer to go with him and not hurt anymore…” Whether she was selfish or not, losing her beloved had also robbed her of her rational thinking.

Her words resonated deeply with Wei Fang Yalan, and seeing her in such a state, a maternal instinct suddenly surged. She couldn’t help but shed tears of compassion for her.

If it weren’t for genuine love, such profound sorrow could not be fabricated!

She loved Tian Lang so sincerely! How could she have ever doubted her love for Tian Lang?

She shouldn’t have blindly used external conditions as a standard, treating her so harshly and critically. As a mother, she should be grateful to have such a girl who truly and wholeheartedly loved her son!

Wei Fang Yalan was filled with emotion, regretting that she had not generously approved of their relationship earlier, leaving her son worried even before his departure, unable to truly feel at peace.

Although Tian Lang was no longer here, she was willing to make amends, willing to do something for her son, willing to love the person he loved!

“Yi An, believe me, the pain of a parent burying a child is no less than yours. But even so, I must grit my teeth and endure. So you cannot be weaker than me, understand?” She held her skeletal hand, offering strong comfort.

That choked voice and slightly warm hand made Yi An finally shift her gaze to look at her. They stared at each other with tearful eyes, silent for a long moment, only thick sorrow enveloping them.

“Aunt, I’m in such pain!” As soon as she spoke, she couldn’t help but sob.

“I know, I understand.” Wei Fang Yalan embraced her, patting her back, sorrowful tears continuously meandering down her pale face.

“We had planned to get engaged, get married, travel abroad together. We had planned everything, except how we would suddenly be separated like this!” Longing gnawed at her soul, unable to escape her grief, she cried heart-wrenchingly.

“Life is unpredictable. We must be brave. If heaven closes one window, it will surely open another. There are still things in this world worth anticipating and cherishing.” Wei Fang Yalan, now softened, gently encouraged, speaking words of comfort to herself as well.

“Nothing’s left, everything’s gone…” Yi An cried out, having lost hope in everything.

“No, there is.” Wei Fang Yalan pulled back slightly, stating firmly.

Yi An looked at her through tear-filled eyes, speechless.

“Tian Lang’s life will continue in you. His bloodline is in your belly.” Wei Fang Yalan smiled through tears, announcing the news just confirmed by the doctor.

Tears stopped abruptly. Yi An was stunned by this revelation.

“I’m pregnant?” She touched her abdomen, asking in a daze.

“Yes, the doctor says it’s been six weeks.” This news provided Wei Fang Yalan a slight comfort in her grief of losing her son.

Yi An’s emotions were again overwhelmed, her thoughts too chaotic to speak.

Was this good news or bad?

Welcoming a new life should be joyful, after all, this was the fruit of her love with Tian Lang. But the child’s arrival, right after losing Tian Lang, seemed poorly timed.

Could she survive this loss of her beloved and adapt to pregnancy? Even if she survived, did she have the courage to be a single mother?

“If Tian Lang were still here, he would be very happy,” Wei Fang Yalan said softly, gently stroking her sharp-featured face.

Yes, if he were still here, he would be very happy. But the fact was he was gone. Would he, unable to protect her, want her to have the child alone?

Yi An remained silent, lost in thought.

Darkness, pitch black where one couldn’t see their own hand. An eerie atmosphere permeated the air. Yi An was in boundless darkness, feeling lonely, helpless, and panicked.

Where was this place? Why, besides the darkness, could she see nothing?

“Yi An… Yi An…” Familiar calls suddenly arose from nowhere.

Her heart trembled at the voice.

“Tian Lang?! Is it Tian Lang? Where are you?” She anxiously looked around. A light suddenly appeared in the darkness, gradually expanding like a spotlight, revealing his beloved, familiar figure.

“Come here,” Wei Tian Lang beckoned, smiling faintly.

Yi An joyfully rushed forward, embracing him.

“I missed you so much, so very much… Where have you been these days? Do you know how worried we were?” She cried excitedly, asking repeatedly. “We thought you…”

“Yi An.” He suddenly called out, interrupting her questions.

“Hmm?” She looked up at him, slightly pulling away.

“Do you remember our promise?” Instead of answering her questions, he asked mysteriously.

Yi An was stunned. They had many promises, and she couldn’t immediately recall which one he meant.

Seeing her confused, Wei Tian Lang’s brow furrowed with worry.

“Don’t forget you promised me that in my absence, you would be independent.” Gripping her shoulders, he spoke seriously.

Yi An’s heart skipped a beat. She nervously looked at him.
