The Struggling CEO

Was it not enough love, or too much love?

Given Wei Tianlong’s good conditions, even without love, someone would typically cling to him. So she believed Yi An’s case was the latter.

She was slightly moved but wouldn’t give up because of admiration. She needed to think of herself. Having started, she wouldn’t retreat.

So, she was going out shopping to celebrate, pretending to be unaware of Yi An’s departure to avoid being questioned.

That evening, Wei Tianlong and Wei Fang Yalan, who returned home from work on time, found no trace of Yi An. Initially, they were just puzzled by her lack of explanation, but as time passed and her phone remained unreachable, anxiety gradually filled their hearts.

“What’s wrong with Yi An? Why hasn’t she come home so late? She didn’t say where she went, and her phone is unreachable!” Wei Tianlong paced anxiously, wearing down the Persian carpet.

“Ge Ma, did you see when Miss Yi An left?” Wei Fang Yalan asked the housekeeper.

“No,” Ge Ma responded uneasily.

Wei Tianlong suddenly had an idea. “Could she have gone back to the mountain villa? She doesn’t have many friends here, so she wouldn’t be wandering around for so long!”

“Call and check,” Wei Fang Yalan urged.

Wei Tianlong immediately dialed the mountain villa number, which was picked up after less than three rings.

“Xian Yun Mountain Villa, hello,” came Yi An’s clear voice.

“What are you doing? Running back to the mountain without any explanation? Do you know how worried I’ve been?” Wei Tianlong immediately scolded her, while Wei Fang Yalan and Ge Ma simultaneously sighed in relief.

Wow, so harsh!

Why, when she left, wasn’t he nervous but instead so angry with her?!

“I left you a letter,” she mumbled.

“Where is it? I didn’t see it!” Having been worried for so long, his tone remained harsh.

“Under the alarm clock,” she specified, knowing he always turned on the alarm each night, so she placed it in a conspicuous spot.

“No, I didn’t see it when I took off my watch.” His watch was in the drawer under the alarm clock, and he would have noticed anything unusual.

“It’s there, look again carefully. It was definitely there. I wrote many important things in the letter. Check it thoroughly before saying anything,” she said confidently, then abruptly hung up the phone.

Damn, she had just picked up the phone, feeling excited several times upon hearing his voice, thinking he had read the letter and made a decision, so he called to tell her the answer, but he hadn’t even seen the letter!

Wei Tianlang stared blankly at the receiver, wondering what was so mysterious about this letter.

“What the hell is going on?” he muttered.

“How is it?” Wei Fang Yalan asked concernedly.

“She said she left a letter.” After answering, he immediately rushed upstairs to the bedroom, searched for a long time without finding it, then came downstairs dejected, questioning the housekeeper. “Ge Ma, who was responsible for cleaning the room today?”

“Xiao Lian,” Ge Ma thought and replied.

“Call her home and ask if she found a letter,” Wei Tianlang sat on the sofa with his arms crossed, not wanting to wait a moment longer.

The Wei family’s servants only had Ge Ma living in the villa 24 hours a day; the rest left by 8:30 at the latest.

Ge Ma immediately found Xiao Lian’s phone number and called her, talking for quite a while before hanging up.

“Did you find anything?” Wei Tianlang immediately asked.

“She said there was nothing in the young master’s room, but there was a crumpled piece of paper in Fiona’s guest room trash can, which seems to be the letter,” Ge Ma said hesitantly, sensing something was wrong.

Wei Tianlang’s heart tightened, and he exchanged a glance with Wei Fang Yalan, both understanding.

“Can the letter still be found?” What Fiona had done was secondary at the moment; the key was he wanted to know what Yi An had written!

“It can be found. Paper recycling isn’t thrown out daily, so it’s still in the recycling bin.” Ge Ma quickly walked to the storage room to help find the letter.

“Fiona has scheming tendencies in many small ways; you need to communicate well,” Wei Fang Yalan sighed. “Although she is your benefactor, there are many ways to repay, and you must not sacrifice your feelings.”

“I know, I’ve already refused her,” Wei Tianlang’s expression was somewhat heavy, thinking about whether he should be more forceful in dealing with her.

“Yi An is a good girl. I already consider her one of us; you must cherish her,” she continued, her words revealing her fondness and compassion for Yi An.

“I will. No matter what she wrote in the letter, I will definitely go and bring her back,” feeling his mother’s heartfelt love for Yi An, Wei Tianlang smiled happily.

Tao Lesi’s “Fallen CEO”

Chapter Ten – Three days had passed since that inexplicable bombardment phone call, and Yi An hadn’t received another call from Wei Tianlang.

At that time, he didn’t know she had left a letter, but later, she had no idea whether the letter was found or read.

She had clearly written and placed it, so it couldn’t have disappeared, which meant he must have seen it… Since he had seen it, and there was silence for two days, did that mean he tacitly agreed to her departure and chose Fiona?

It must be! Two days was enough time to consider.

Originally holding a glimmer of hope, now it was a clean break, leaving herself no room at all.

Her mood was gloomy, feeling listless and lacking motivation for anything!

Strangely, although she felt depressed with a faint bitter taste in her chest, she didn’t feel an unbearable pain.

Perhaps after experiencing that previous emotional rollercoaster, any subsequent challenges seemed insignificant because she realized nothing was truly insurmountable.

Living was most important. As long as she knew he was living happily, she would feel at peace.

“Sigh~” Despite this, she still felt melancholic, unable to show a smile. To avoid her parents’ concerned inquiries and troubling herself, she spent her days dazed in her room.

Her dejected gaze looked out the window. The weather was cold, distant mountains shrouded in misty haze, the sky a gloomy gray-white, casting a desolate layer over her heart, creating a poetic, painterly beauty.

White cotton-like dots began floating before her eyes, increasing in number…

It was snowing! Just like her winter romance, which should now be sealed and frozen in her heart.

The letter-stealing incident, Wei Tianlang temporarily didn’t reproach Fiona. Quietly, he arranged time with his mother. On the third day after Yi An returned home, they confirmed a time slot and drove together with the family driver to Yi An’s home.

Fiona, who was staying at the Wei household, had originally stayed under the pretext of wanting to tour Taiwan, so naturally, she was invited to join their trip.

Initially, when Wei Tianlang said he was taking his mother out for a trip and to relax, Fiona didn’t suspect anything. But as the car exited the highway and gradually drove towards the mountain area, she became puzzled.

Although she didn’t know exactly where Yi An lived, she basically knew Yi An lived in the mountain area. Could it be… this trip was to find her?

She had deliberately kept silent these past few days, not asking about Yi An. Wei Tianlang hadn’t mentioned a word either. She had thought he would be angry about Yi An’s sudden departure, but it seemed that wasn’t the case!

Full of doubts, she stopped guessing and pulled out a smile, deliberately asking curiously, “Where are we heading?”

“Yi An’s family-run mountain resort,” Wei Fang Yalan, sitting next to her in the back seat, turned her head and smiled softly.

Fiona’s beautiful face instantly froze, her smile congealing at the corner of her mouth.
