The Struggling CEO

She thought that besides herself, Tian Lang was also reluctant to leave this mother who raised him.

“Okay,” An placed her hand over her mother-in-law’s hand, smiling in agreement.

Because of deep love, she was willing to stay after his departure, to fulfill some filial duties, to love the mother he respected and cherished.

Tao Le Si, “Fallen CEO”

Chapter Eight – One and a Half Months Later—

The joy of new life slightly covered the pain of death, tucking those sorrowful emotions deep in their hearts, emerging only occasionally in unguarded moments, otherwise well-concealed.

Wei Fang Yalan resumed leadership of the Wei Group, while Luo An focused on nurturing herself in preparation for childbirth.

Occasionally when they mourned Tian Lang, they would comfort and support each other.

However, no matter how busy Wei Fang Yalan was, whenever An mentioned a prenatal check-up, she would clear her schedule to accompany her.

The prenatal check-up was normal, requiring only maintenance of a calm mood and nutritional supplementation. Afterward, the driver would first take Wei Fang Yalan back to the company, then take An home.

As soon as An entered the house, she saw Ge Ma excitedly talking on the phone, crying profusely. While she wondered about this, Ge Ma noticed her, her eyes suddenly widening.

“Don’t cry. I’m sorry, I didn’t intentionally not contact you. I was in an accident, was rescued, and then lost my memory. I only fully recovered these past few days. As soon as I remembered everything, I immediately called home.” Wei Tianlang slowly recounted, this extraordinary experience making him feel like he had traversed another lifetime.

Memory loss?! Yi An was stunned in disbelief.

Fortunately he recovered, otherwise he would never have remembered, and they would have been destined never to reunite! They truly had a deep predestined connection!

“Where are you now? Can we come and pick you up right away?” She quickly asked after coming to her senses.

“Don’t be anxious. I’m in the United States now. I’ll go to the branch company tomorrow. After taking care of some procedures and booking a ticket, I’ll return immediately. Don’t run back and forth, just wait for me at home.” Although he was also eager to return, he still softly tried to comfort her.

“You’ll really come back? How many days? Can you give me the phone number where you’re staying? I’m so afraid of losing you again!” This accident had terrified her, afraid of losing contact again, she asked nervously and repeatedly.

“Okay, I’ll give you the phone number. Write it down now…” He recited a string of numbers, and then added:

“Yi An, I miss you and Mom very much, so I will definitely try to return as soon as possible. Don’t worry or be afraid anymore, just wait for me with peace of mind.”

Hearing his words of missing them, Yi An’s tears that had momentarily stopped now flowed again.

“Okay, okay, I’ll wait. Mom and I will wait for you to come back.” She nodded vigorously on the other end of the phone, her voice trembling.

“Are you both doing okay?” Understanding the impact of such a life-and-death separation, Wei Tianlang couldn’t help but ask about their condition with concern.

“Of course not!” She gave a bitter smile, not dwelling on negative thoughts during the call, then immediately perked up and smiled. “But as long as you come back quickly, everything bad will turn good.”

“Yes, I will definitely return as soon as possible. Go tell Mom this good news and make her happy.” He reassured her again.

They chatted for a few more moments before hanging up, with many things left unsaid, waiting to be shared when they met in person.

Just having returned home, Yi An was overjoyed and immediately asked the driver to take her out, wanting to personally tell Wei Fang Yalan this incredible news, certain she would be just as happy.

Wei Tianlang finally reunited with them a week later.

That day, Wei Fang Yalan instructed the chef to prepare many of Wei Tianlang’s favorite foods and, before the flight’s arrival, went to the airport with Yi An to meet him.

Yi An held Wei Fang Yalan’s arm, both suppressing their wild joy and excitement, looking expectantly at the display board in the airport hall. The flight was mischievously delayed by twenty minutes, clearly torturing their hearts.

Finally, the plane safely arrived, and passengers from that flight began to disembark. They waited and hoped, and finally saw the figure they had been dreaming of.

“Tianlang—” Regardless of the public space, Yi An called out loudly.

Wei Fang Yalan didn’t have time to stop her running, just saw Yi An sprint towards Wei Tianlang like a hundred-meter runner, feeling simultaneously worried, happy, and unable to help but shake her head and smile, not immediately rushing to interrupt them.

Wei Tianlang scanned around, immediately spotted Yi An, and also happily quickened his pace, spreading his arms to receive her flying, delicate body.

His heart was burning hot at this moment, excited blood rushing through his entire body.

They said nothing, just held each other tightly. Other passengers walked past them, many curiously looking, but they didn’t care, only having eyes for each other in that moment.

After a long while, the arrivals and greeters had mostly dispersed, leaving only a tall, seemingly mixed-race woman standing in a corner watching them, and Wei Fang Yalan seeing they seemed intent on embracing until eternity, had to step forward and remind them.

“Ahem…” She cleared her throat, understanding Yi An’s feelings and not begrudging her monopolizing Tianlang, but—

“Let’s go home and talk properly!”

They reluctantly separated, Wei Tianlang immediately smiling at his mother. “Mom, I’ve worried you these past days.”

“Just being safe is good.” Wei Fang Yalan reached out to gently caress her son’s face, a thousand words reduced to a simple sentence and a warm smile.

Wei Tianlang smiled, their relationship marked by quiet warmth, their love and care deeply hidden in their hearts.

Catching a glimpse of the person standing in the corner, Wei Tianlang suddenly realized his reunion joy had overwhelmed him, and he had almost forgotten the important person who had returned with him.

“I almost forgot to introduce you.” He waved over the friend standing nearby, smiling as she came and stood beside him.

Yi An and Wei Fang Yalan’s gazes immediately turned to the tall, deep-featured woman, both inwardly puzzled about her identity.

“Mom, Yi An, this is Fiona. Fiona, this is my mother, and this is my girlfriend.” Wei Tianlang introduced them, and they politely nodded in greeting.

After basic introductions, Wei Tianlang continued to explain. “On the day of the incident, it seemed the car had internal problems and went out of control, falling into the sea. I escaped from the car but was too exhausted to swim ashore and ended up drifting to a beach. Fortunately, Fiona happened to be playing there and discovered me unconscious on the coast. So she is my life-saving benefactor.”

Hearing this, Yi An and Wei Fang Yalan’s eyes toward Fiona suddenly became sparkling.

“Fiona, thank you for saving Tianlang!”

“Fiona, you are truly a great benefactor to the Wei family!”

They both simultaneously expressed their gratitude to Fiona, gratefully holding her hand, instantly elevating her status to the highest.

Fiona is an American-born Chinese who is fluent in both Chinese and English, so she has no communication problems with them. She completely understands both Wei Tianlang’s introduction and their expressions of gratitude.

“It’s nothing. This is because I had a predestined connection with Tianlang, which led to this coincidental encounter. I’m also happy that I could save him,” Fiona said with a generous smile, though her gaze was slightly directed towards Wei Fang Yalan.
