Little Demon, Don’t Go

Geng Qianyu smiled, realizing his friend was experiencing first love.

………………

Yu Xiaoying had been walking for over half an hour.

Her feet were already hurting.

“Why live anywhere else, especially in the mountains? Building a temple might even have better incense!” she cursed under her breath.

Suddenly, a bright red sports car braked to a stop in front of her. The wind lifted Yu Xiaoying’s skirt, which she quickly pressed down.

She looked up angrily. Geng Yaoyang was laughing, his eyes sparkling with a teasing smile and his mouth beautifully curved.

Her eyes, originally blazing with fire, went blank upon seeing him, quickly replaced by icy indifference. Her gaze was like a sealed door, along with her heart.

“Get in the car!” he commanded.

Yu Xiaoying ignored him and walked straight ahead. The car blocked her path once again.

She pressed her cherry-red lips together in silence. Geng Yaoyang jumped out of the car and forcefully pulled her close, pinning her against the car.

“What?” He traced the scar on her temple, and her avoidance angered him. “Are you unhappy with the facts I stated? One from England, one from S City. Isn’t Ji Ran as handsome as Song Chu?”

“Don’t mention Ji Ran!” Yu Xiaoying snapped, reaching her limit.

“Found a new love and forgotten the old so quickly?” He leaned in closer, seductively approaching her.

“It’s not about forgetting, you’re just not worthy,” her cold words stung Geng Yaoyang.

“Not worthy?” He laughed wildly.

Suddenly, he kissed her—a punishing kiss.

His kiss was domineering, moving over her lips. Yu Xiaoying wanted to escape, but he pressed the back of her head. When she raised her hand in anger, he pinned it down on the car.

Gradually, Geng Yaoyang’s kiss became soft, like a sigh.

After a long time, he released Yu Xiaoying and looked at her.

A strange feeling spread. “Let’s make a deal,” he said. “You already have a lover, so what’s one more?”

Yu Xiaoying stared at him in surprise, then laughed softly, “Geng Yaoyang, I’m not interested in you.”

She turned and got into the car.

Geng Yaoyang looked sullen. After a while, he slammed the car door and sped away.

The car was quiet. He glanced at Yu Xiaoying in the rearview mirror. Her eyes looked melancholic.

Yu Xiaoying’s vision cleared.

A magnified handsome face appeared before her: Geng Yaoyang’s cold eyes regarded her curiously. She furrowed her brow slightly, but a faint smile lingered on her lips, with a hint of tears glimmering in her eyes. Was it about her British lover?

A suffocating sourness rose in Geng Yaoyang’s chest, a strange feeling.

“Hmm?”

He smiled wickedly, “What are you spacing out about? Lover?”

Yu Xiaoying looked at him helplessly, “I’m not your lover, Geng Yaoyang.”

“Not?” He grabbed her fingertips and drew close. “Don’t we look like we are?”

Dressed in black, they did look like a couple. Yu Xiaoying coldly pulled back her hand.

“I’m interested in you!” Geng Yaoyang said.

“I don’t want you to be interested in me!” Yu Xiaoying replied angrily.

“Want!”

“Don’t want!”

After a long silence, Geng Yaoyang laughed, his smile bright, while Yu Xiaoying also laughed, her eyes free of sadness.

“You’re quite stubborn, Geng Yaoyang!”

“Call me Yao!”

“But we’re not that close yet…”

“Call! Me! Yao!”

“Won’t call!”

Outside the school, in a small park, Yu Xiaoying crept over, panicking at Geng Yaoyang’s threat to shout “Yu Xiaoying loves Geng Yaoyang!” if she didn’t come out. She hadn’t even dried her hair from the shower.

“What do you want?!” Yu Xiaoying’s anger had been escalating.

Geng Yaoyang turned around, his fresh scent evident.

Upon seeing Yu Xiaoying, a fleeting joy flashed in his eyes. “Missed you, just wanted to see!” he said lazily.

She felt like smashing her phone at him.

Yu Xiaoying raised her hand, but Geng Yaoyang quickly snatched it and pressed a few numbers.

She found his behavior strange; he was sometimes incredibly cool and sometimes childish.

When she turned to walk away, Geng Yaoyang grabbed her wrist, slightly sweaty, and said, “I’ll take you back” while stuffing the phone into her hand.

“No!” she responded coldly. “Or I’ll never talk to you again.”

Geng Yaoyang stood still.

Yu Xiaoying turned, a mischievous smile on her face, calling him an idiot in her mind.

As she walked around the corner, a strong hand covered her nose and mouth, the overwhelming smell of alcohol making her dizzy.

In her remaining consciousness, Yu Xiaoying pressed a key on her phone, but it fell to the ground.

The phone rang.

Geng Yaoyang snapped back to reality. “Yu Xiaoying?”

“Hello?” came the excited voice on the other end.

“Hello? Hello??”

There were chaotic footsteps coming from the other side.

Geng Yaoyang paused, then quickly rushed over.

At the corner, a cool night breeze blew.

His eyebrows were tightly furrowed…

Yu Xiaoying opened her eyes, momentarily disoriented in the dark room.

Stay calm! What was the situation? Was she kidnapped?!

A cold laugh rang out.

Lin Yichen walked over with a triumphant smile, “Miss Yu, do you know your situation?”

Yu Xiaoying regarded her coldly, prompting Lin Yichen to slap her. A handprint appeared on Yu Xiaoying’s face, with blood trickling from the corner of her mouth.

“I hate your eyes!” Lin Yichen said, “Because Song Chu approached me because I have eyes similar to yours. If I didn’t have these eyes, he might not have looked at me at all. Since I can’t gouge out my own eyes, then… I’ll gouge out yours!” She laughed eerily.

“You won’t.”

“Why?”

“Because…” Yu Xiaoying replied, “you’re still just a little girl…”

Meanwhile, Song Chu was puzzled at Yu Xiaoying’s classroom. Her phone had been off all night; she was not there.

He took out his phone.

“Nana, is Xiaoying with you?”

“No, I’m with Junfeng right now.”

“Auntie, has Xiaoying come home?”

“No, didn’t she have classes at school today?”

“Zihan, is Xiaoying in the dorm?”

“No, her things haven’t been touched; it seems she didn’t come back last night…”

Song Chu held the phone, unsure of who to call.

Suddenly, Geng Yaoyang appeared, his face gloomy and anxious.

“I have something to tell you!” he said in a muffled tone.

Lin Yichen laughed, “You still don’t seem to understand. You’re like a fish on my chopping board, begging me!”

Yu Xiaoyo looked at her sympathetically. “Why?” she asked softly.

“…”

“Is it because of Song Chu?” Yu Xiaoyo stared at her.

“…”

“If it weren’t for me, would Song Chu like you now?”

Slap! Lin Yichen’s face turned red. “What are you saying?”

Yu Xiaoyo smiled. “Isn’t this stupid? Originally, he had feelings for you, or at least guilt. But now… perhaps you would have been together.”

Lin Yichen glared at her. “You’re so hypocritical.”

Yu Xiaoyo looked at her quietly.

“You talk about these grand principles, but you’re actually the one who inserted yourself between me and Song Chu,” Lin Yichen clenched her fists. “Didn’t you already give up? Why did you come back?”

“I… don’t know!” Yu Xiaoyo bit her lip, tears flickering.

Lin Yichen raised her hand, seeing Yu Xiaoyo’s pain, but slowly lowered it.

Geng Yaoyang’s face grew darker.

Song Chu gripped his phone tightly.

“Have you asked everyone?”

“Yes.”

“No one has seen anything?”

“Yes.”

Geng Yaoyang turned to walk away.

“What are you doing?”

Song Chu grabbed him.

“Looking for someone!”

“Where?”

“Don’t know,” his voice was hard and cold.

Song Chu’s hand dropped.

“Aren’t you anxious?” Geng Yaoyang frowned.

“I am!” Song Chu looked at him. “Why are you so urgent?”

Geng Yaoyang turned, his side profile saying, “If necessary, use your dad’s contacts.”

Lin Yichen sat down beside Yu Xiaoyo.

“Want to hear a story?” she asked. Yu Xiaoyo smiled weakly.
