Little Demon, Don’t Go

Noticing Song Chu’s stiffness, Lin Yichen looked up and saw the pain in his eyes. Turning, she saw Yu Xiaoying standing not far away, smiling while crying.

The three stood silently until—

Lin Yichen picked up her bag and walked out the door. Song Chu did not move as she passed by Yu Xiaoying.

“Please stay,” she said softly.

“What?”

“Please stay,” Yu Xiaoying smiled.

Lin Yichen stood frozen. “Everyone will worry if you leave, especially Chu.” She took Lin Yichen’s bag. “Stay at his place peacefully. We’ll come to see you often.”

Lin Yichen lowered her hand. “Go rest. I’m leaving.”

“No, Xiaoying, I—”

“I have something to do today. I just happened to pass by.” Yu Xiaoying suddenly said in panic, avoiding Song Chu’s gaze. “I’ll come see you another day.”

“I’ll see you off,” Song Chu walked over.

“No need.”

“Really no need.”

Yu Xiaoying fled quickly.

Achoo! She caught a cold.

Why was she so weak? She had just done a good deed, so why? Tears fell as she caught a crystal droplet with her finger. Coward, admit you’re sad! No, I won’t!

Suddenly, a powerful arm hugged her from behind.

“Thank you, Xiaoying.”

“What?”

“Thank you—for making me love you more.”

“What!” She glared at him.

“Are you jealous?” Song Chu asked carefully.

“No!” Her face turned red.

Song Chu pressed her cheek into his chest, and she struggled hard. Sunlight outlined them with a golden edge. “Thank you.”

“Then you must promise me one thing.”

“?”

“I’m going to live there too!”

“Ah?”

[Fate’s Will: Chapter Five – Fate? Fate!]

Early Winter, influenza attacked S City.

Yu Xiaoying sat on a stool, unhappy, watching Qin Na occupy her warm bed. She had been forced onto a hard, cold stool.

“Xiaoying, you are…” Qin Na glared at her with bloodshot eyes. “Stupid!”

“Stupid?” Yu Xiaoying frowned. “This is my dorm.”

“Yes!” Qin Na waved her arms, “Are you performing the 2006 version of E Huang and Nu Ying? So affected!”

“Affected?” Yu Xiaoying narrowed her eyes, still in her spot on the bed.

“Handing over your boyfriend to someone else? Have you gone crazy?!”

“Enough!” Yu Xiaoying jumped from the stool, barefoot, and lunged at Qin Na, “I let you in just to lecture me? I’m the one who’s gone crazy!” She placed her hands on her hips, “Hey! Get down!”

“What!” Qin Na, startled, sneezed three times, her nose burning.

“Na Na…” Yu Xiaoying stared at her blankly.

“?”

“Your nose is bleeding.”

After a long struggle, Qin Na finally fell asleep. Yu Xiaoying wiped the cold sweat from her forehead and slumped by the bed.

Qin Na, who had bled from sneezing, was truly the first of her kind at X School.

Thinking about the basins of bloody water, Yu Xiaoying felt a lingering fear. Severely “blood-phobic,” she weakly went back and forth between the room and the water room, pouring out basin after basin.

Sitting quietly by the bed, she let the cold invade her skin. Why did the diluting blood make her feel increasingly desperate?

Yu Xiaoying stood by the pool, breaking out in a cold sweat and replaced the basin with clean water. What should she do if the bleeding doesn’t stop?

She trembled as she pulled out her phone.

“Chu! Na Na is bleeding heavily from her nose, can you come and take a look?”

“I…”

“Can you come? We’ll take Na Na to the hospital together. My brother isn’t here!”

“I’m sorry, Xiaoying, Yi Chen is very sick, I can’t leave right now…”

Again!

“Is she more important than me?” she shouted.

“Don’t be unreasonable, I really can’t leave. How about this… I’ll tutor Yi Chen tonight; can I see you later?”

“I’m sorry, Yi Chen…”

“Yi Chen is sick, I can’t leave…”

When did their conversations only revolve around Yi Chen?

Damn it!

“Song Chu!”

Listen carefully, I never want to hear Yi Chen’s name from your mouth again. Stay with that poor little thing, tutor her, comfort her, take care of her! Go pay your emotional debt!”

“Xiaoying, I…”

She hung up the phone and ran to the room with the basin. At least someone needed her right now.

Night gradually devoured the sun.

Dim moonlight shone on the windowsill.

Cold invaded every corner of the room.

Yu Xiaoying leaned in the corner of the bed, in the darkness.

Crystalline light flickered on her face.

I’m sorry…

Ji Ran, it’s raining in your heaven again.

Am I really that petty?

What should I do?

“Ring~~~”

Alice’s ringtone woke Yu Xiaoying.

“Hello?”

“It’s me.”

“Na Na is fine now.”

“Xiaoying, can you come out? Let’s talk.” It was Song Chu.

“I don’t think we have anything to talk about.” A cold laugh crept onto her lips.

“I know you’re angry, but I’m really sorry.”

“Song Chu.”

“?”

“Bring Lin Yi Chen.”

“What?”

“Let’s clear things up face to face. Anyway, I’m already the bad guy, so what does it matter?”

“She’s quite sick and shouldn’t go out,” Song Chu hesitated.

“No, Chu, I can manage. I want to apologize to Xiaoying personally,” Lin Yi Chen said weakly from the other end.

“Okay.”

Meet at the KFC at the south crossroads of the school in 15 minutes.”

What to do next was unknown, but she couldn’t avoid it anymore.

Go for it! Yu Xiaoying, being the evil queen doesn’t matter. As long as Ji Ran’s heaven stops raining.

Looking at Qin Na sleeping sweetly, Yu Xiaoying gently closed the door.

8:30

A light fog descended from the sky.

Few pedestrians remained on the street.

At the crossroads, under the overpass, Yu Xiaoying stood waiting for Song Chu and Lin Yi Chen, quietly watching the rushing traffic.

10 minutes turned into 20, then 40…

Finally, Song Chu and Lin Yi Chen got out of a taxi.

Yu Xiaoying watched as he gently supported her. She wore a red coat, her pale face visible even from a distance. Objectively, they looked like a perfect match.

Yu Xiaoying smiled self-deprecatingly at her black coat, thinking Snow White wore red, so the queen must wear black to symbolize evil.

Song Chu quickly spotted Yu Xiaoying and ran straight over, happiness evident on his face.

No!!! she wanted to shout, but her voice remained trapped in her heart.

The road was narrow, and there weren’t many vehicles.

Song Chu’s joy radiated as he ran over, while Yu Xiaoying’s mind screamed for him to stop.

Don’t!

She wanted to wave her hand to make him stop, but it had already gone stiff.

Don’t! She wanted to run over, but her feet would not move.

Danger! A taxi rushed over, catching the driver off guard.

Song Chu did not expect the car that seemed far away moments ago to suddenly be right in front of him. Yu Xiaoying was stunned, everything before her becoming blurry.

In a haze, a red figure rushed out to Song Chu’s side.

Screech! The sound of emergency braking was harsh, and the taxi stopped three meters away. Lin Yichen fell to the ground.

Song Chu stood shocked beside him. Thank goodness! Tears gushed out. So good! Nothing happened. But why was Lin Yichen lying on the ground and not getting up?

Song Chu picked her up and got into the taxi, heading towards the hospital. Yu Xiaoying stood frozen.

Just three short minutes felt as long as a century.

Song Chu, who had come to his senses, held Lin Yichen tightly. At that moment, she was no longer in his eyes, or in his heart. Snow White had completely won!

Lin Yichen slowly opened her eyes, tears falling onto the snow-white pillowcase.

Chu, you are still worried about her, aren’t you?

You still love her, don’t you?

Running. The road is cold and quiet. Occasional passersby glance at the sprinting boy.

Xiaoyao, you must not have left yet. Wait for me to explain. Wait for me to say sorry.

Sorry.

Fine beads of sweat form on her forehead. Song Chu removes his coat while running, quickening his pace.

Yu Xiaoyao tiptoes and pushes open the door.
