Crazy Smartphone – Part Two

He couldn’t figure out what kind of changes had occurred to Lin Feng, but the lesson from the battle on the rooftop, coupled with the fact that this young man, who was on the brink of death, had suddenly become lively and vigorous, made him somewhat cautious. He was afraid that even though Lin Feng’s fighting strength was now formidable, there might be another sudden mishap. Qin Jian had an inexplicable fondness for Lin Feng and naturally did not wish for such a cultivation prodigy to perish foolishly at the hands of this sinister and cruel witch. So, he chose to yield. In his view, having shown enough sincerity and taking the initiative to retreat despite having the upper hand, the other party had no reason to refuse. However, reality often surprises. Queen Tenglan burst into laughter again, “Mr. Qin, do you think Xiangzi would only gather these useless things to deal with someone like you?”

Suddenly, one or two blue electric arcs started to flicker intermittently on the iron bars. After Queen Tenglan’s exaggerated laughter, her whip tip moved without wind, like a serpent slithering forward on the ground, effortlessly picking up a fallen Japanese long knife, then flicking it towards the iron bars with the whip’s tail. There was a series of crackling sounds as the long knife collided with the iron bars, causing the electric arcs to surge instantly. The Japanese long knife was easily knocked to the ground, its blade showing a large melted gap.

Lin Feng, who had by then returned to sit beside Qin Jian, gaped in astonishment: “High voltage?!” He suddenly felt very grateful for having listened to Qin Jian earlier and not rushing out recklessly. Damn it, even the most powerful psychic could be easily killed by certain worldly weapons. Like firearms, like this million or even tens of millions of volts electric net, or even more formidable nuclear weapons. This world was not a playground where psychics could run rampant; there were too many threats hanging over their heads. The advantage of psychics lay only in their ability to blend into the mundane world and their stealthy approach before attacking.

No wonder this vile woman was so composed; she had already set up traps. Could it be that gun barrels would suddenly protrude from around this rusty cage? Lin Feng scanned around in slight panic but didn’t notice any other unusual movements, except that the electric arcs around the cage seemed to be increasingly frequent, almost as if they were specifically targeting him.

“Stay calm!” Qin Jian whispered in his ear, “It’s an electric psychic! As long as he doesn’t get close, we’ll be fine!”

“What do we do now?”

“Stay calm; they won’t go for the kill yet! As long as you don’t touch metal or other conductive materials, a mere electric cricket can’t do much harm!”

Queen Tenglan burst into her habitual laughter, completely unmoved by the lives of her subordinates beside her. By now, the effects of the aphrodisiac had worn off, and she had regained her composure.

“Qin Jian!” she shouted, gritting her teeth, “You’ve reversed your meridians temporarily to break the seal of the golden needle, but how long can you hold out? Now that our holy cult’s Demon of Electricity has sealed this cage, don’t think you can save your life by hiding like a coward! Be smart, tell me where the sacred artifact is!”

The two men in the cage exchanged glances, understanding each other’s intentions.

Lin Feng asked, puzzled, “Old Qin, how long can you hold on?”

Qin Jian scoffed, “Hold on? I don’t need to exert myself for such trash! But you, little brat, take it easy!” He glanced intentionally or unintentionally at Lin Feng’s crotch.

Qin Jian was now barely clothed, only a piece of ragged cloth wrapped around his waist for modesty, his chest and back covered in dark red whip marks. Despite his disheveled state, he showed no signs of despair. The chilling memory of narrowly escaping the overpowering effects of the aphrodisiac lingered, but it was not something he could easily voice.

However, Lin Feng, in his youth, found the earlier scene too bizarre and stimulating—a seductive woman whipping a group of men in the throes of lust, followed by those men engaging in violent acts under her dance. Even in the quiet of a lonely internet café, watching bizarre animal documentaries had never shown anything so shocking. Especially since he had inhaled some of the aphrodisiac, though the cruel and bloody actions of Queen Tenglan had woken him up significantly, his body still reacted slightly.

His slight reaction didn’t escape Qin Jian’s experienced eyes, but when Lin Feng asked how long he could last, he was referring to the duration of the reversed meridians’ effect. Qin Jian, instead of answering, teased him. This distraction eased Lin Feng’s earlier tension, making him less restless.

Seeing this, Qin Jian nodded approvingly, “You’re doing good, kid! People meant for great things should be able to stay calm! That vile woman is hoping we’d rush out in panic. Humph! Just a Demon of Electricity, if he dares to show up, I’ll be the first to take him down!”

Though Qin Jian spoke softly, Queen Tenglan outside the cage seemed to guess what was being said, letting out another wild laugh, “You don’t have to fear just one Demon of Electricity. If the four demons of our holy cult appear together, Mr. Qin, I’d love to see you display your prowess for an admirer like me!”

“Four demons? After mutilating seven dogs and eight pigs, now four more? Where do these damn things come from?” Lin Feng mocked.

“Damn things? Wow, you’re quite clever! Listen up, Tenglan Yukika, I don’t care how many protectors or demons you bring from your dogshit cult, this isn’t a place for your Japanese psychics to run wild. If I must die, so be it, but you, since you’re so stubborn, wait for the full-scale psychic war!”

“War? Dream on! Do you think you two still have a chance to send out any messages? Don’t dream! With our holy cult’s Heavenly Demon Four Absolute Formation here, even a true god would perish!”

Queen Tenglan stopped talking and called out, “Where are the Four Demons of Sound, Light, Electricity, and Magnetism?”

At her signal, four men of various sizes and builds burst through the chamber door, standing behind her. These were the Electric Demon with a face like a thunder god, the Magnetic Demon with skin as black as ink, the Sound Demon with a mouth as large as a bucket, and the Light Demon with eyes like snow.
