Girl, Can You Escape?

Xu Chu arrived at the room Shen Yixuan specified and pressed the doorbell.

“Ding dong! Ding dong!”

Shen Yixuan quickly opened the door, pulled Xu Chu inside, and closed it.

“How did you end up looking so disheveled?” Xu Chu asked.

“Less talk. Where are the things?” Shen Yixuan replied, uninterested in chatting.

“Hey! Tell me what happened last night? Telling me won’t cost you anything. Don’t tell me you were robbed by that girl I was investigating… Cough! Cough! Tsk! Tsk! Tsk!”

Didn’t expect President Shen to be robbed of his clothes by a little girl. What big news, even his underwear was stolen!” Xu Chu said sarcastically to Shen Yixuan.

“Chu, are you looking to be beaten?” Shen Yixuan snatched the clothes from Xu Chu’s hands.

“So scary! Forget it, I won’t ask.” Xu Chu obediently shut his mouth, but when he saw the ring on Shen Yixuan’s hand, he asked again: “Yixuan, when did you put on a ring? Are you married?”

“Put on last night,” Shen Yixuan answered while changing clothes.

“Huh? Can you say that again?” Xu Chu continued to ask.

“Noisy! Are you free?” Shen Yixuan shot Xu Chu a sharp look.

“Hehe! Pretend I didn’t ask. I still have work to do. I’ll leave first. Bye! Call me when you need my help!” Xu Chu thought while walking.

Do you really need to escape so quickly? Shen Yixuan watched Xu Chu walk towards the door and then continued his work.

Luo Yaling returned home and collapsed weakly onto her bed, feeling exhausted. She couldn’t believe what happened last night. While she managed to escape from that man, she still ended up in bed with him.

No, it was different; at least she knew him. She reminded herself that he hadn’t intentionally taken advantage of her. Although she was very drunk, she recalled asking him to stay and initiating things. So, she decided that if anyone was to blame, it was herself. She even thought about compensating him.

Now, he should be up and have seen her note. Would he be angry that she had borrowed his clothes? The thought of him going out bare-chested made her chuckle as she imagined his embarrassment.

But then she remembered the phone call from yesterday, causing her smile to vanish and leaving her with a complex feeling. What should she do now? That scoundrel would certainly come back. Could she pretend nothing happened? That seemed impossible.

She had already said she wouldn’t let him off easy, but how should she vent her anger? Confronting him seems pointless; he has deceived her for so long and won’t admit his intentions easily.

If she continues to entangle with that man, perhaps she should gradually let her attitude towards him fade, making his efforts futile. Would he then stop pestering her? Why does a slight pain arise when she thinks about this? She knows he is not genuinely her friend, and that his friendship has an ulterior motive. Is it because she has invested emotion in him? She feels pain because she has been with him for a long time and has developed feelings, only to discover his betrayal.

Next time she chooses a partner, she must keep her eyes wide open to avoid another man with ill intentions, she reminded herself.

She needs to take a few days off to avoid seeing him. But why should she avoid that woman? Is she afraid of her?

She doesn’t need to hide; she’s not scared the woman will eat her! Still, she’ll rest for a few days. It seems she has already rested for several days, so a few more won’t hurt. Anyway, what’s a few more? She’s so tired! Luo Yaling thought this and slowly closed her eyes, falling asleep.

Shen Yixuan put on his clothes and suddenly remembered he had no money on him, just the two coins the girl gave him. He called Xu Chu to come back; he shouldn’t have left the hotel yet.

“Where are you now? Come back for a moment. See you later.” After hanging up, Shen Yixuan sat on the sofa and waited.

Xu Chu received the call, confused. What else could there be? He hoped Yixuan wasn’t sending him to do something difficult. He thought about not going but still obediently went up.

Chapter Sixty-Two: Returning Home

“Do you have any funds?” Shen Yixuan asked as soon as Xu Chu arrived.

“Huh?” He hoped Yixuan hadn’t been robbed too.

“Do you have money or not?” Shen Yixuan looked at the dazed Xu Chu.

“Of course I do.” Xu Chu took out his wallet, but Shen Yixuan immediately snatched it.

“I’m taking this. Wallet’s yours.”

Shen Yixuan took a large portion of cash from the wallet and tossed it back to Xu Chu.

“Yixuan, are you robbing me?” Xu Chu looked pained at the loss.

“Less nonsense, hand them over. I’ll transfer the money to your account later.” Shen Yixuan rolled his eyes.

“Really? Great, here!” Xu Chu replied.

“Verbose!” Shen Yixuan took the keys and walked towards the door.

“Be careful driving! Don’t damage my baby…” Xu Chu shouted after him.

Shen Yixuan went downstairs, settled the bill, and drove to a restaurant.

That girl probably hasn’t had breakfast yet. She left secretly with his clothes, leaving only two coins. What was she treating him as? A big CEO being treated like a gigolo! Ah, what a failure.

Forget it. Seeing how confused she is, she definitely hasn’t had breakfast. He’ll have Wu Ma deliver some. Shen Yixuan decided and dialed Wu Ma’s number.

“Hello! Wu Ma. Prepare something to deliver to the girl’s home.”

“The girl? Who?” Wu Ma was secretly laughing but feigned ignorance.

“Wu Ma, stop pretending. You know who I’m talking about. Just do it.” Shen Yixuan hung up.

He realized he should go home, having not visited in a long time since that incident. His parents had been urging him to be a filial son, and he felt guilty about their high expectations.

Shen Yixuan made up his mind, left the restaurant, got in the car, and drove home.

Upon arrival, the gang quickly opened the gate, notifying the master and madam that the young master had returned. The old couple had been waiting, and their persistence paid off.

Shen Yixuan parked in the garage and got out of the car to a loud, synchronized greeting: “Welcome home, young master!” The commotion startled the insects and birds nearby.

He furrowed his brow at the grand reception, feeling it was unnecessary, and walked past everyone into the splendid house, where his parents awaited him on the sofa.

Dad! Mom!

He called out to his parents, who were sitting on the sofa drinking tea.

“Finally remembered us?” the two elders spoke in unison, their sharp gazes fixed on him. Moments ago, they had been dancing with joy at his return.

Shen Yixuan sat down next to his mother and said, “Hearing you speak so ‘forcefully’ puts my mind at ease.” Even after three years apart, they were still full of life.

“At ease? Has the sun risen from the west? You actually care about us?” Shang Guan Ziling shot a cold glance at her son.

“Mom! Didn’t you say no news is good news?” Shen Yixuan said calmly, sipping his tea.

Shang Guan Ziling’s expression changed as she forcefully placed her teacup on the table: “You little brat!”

“Just left me behind,” Shen Yixuan added, changing his tone. “Shouldn’t we change the wording?”

“Shut up!” Shang Guan Ziling mimicked her son’s tone.

“Alright, let me speak. Xuan, are you planning to come back…” Shen Yiqiang began, but Shen Yixuan interrupted.

“No. My company is very busy. I’m just here briefly,” Shen Yixuan said, turning away.

He feared seeing his father’s worried face, concerned he might lose control. His father had always treated him well, but he wanted to start his own business and rely on his own abilities.

Shen Yiqiang’s expression darkened: “If it’s so busy, you’ll exhaust yourself. Just come back! Our Shen family can support you.”

The elders began chattering and nagging at their son.
